Spend A Wild Night on Ossabaw! New Year’s Eve Stargazing Trip to Ossabaw Island
||An on-island overnight educational naturalist and stargazing journey sponsored by the Ossabaw Island Foundation. // On Monday afternoon, arrive as a group by boat after a short ride across Ossabaw Sound from Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island. Once on Ossabaw, naturalist John Crawford will lead an interpretive driving tour across the island to the beach; or, remain at Ossabaw’s North End to relax and explore on your own. // Following dinner, experience the universe and beyond as an astronomer presents a sky watching program--identifying constellations, and sharing the legends associated with them. Peer through an eight-inch reflecting telescope to see the moons of Jupiter. Then, enjoy more legends (others' or your own!) around a campfire, with a champagne toast at midnight. // On Tuesday, you'll return to Delegal Creek Marina after breakfast and a leisurely morning. // The New Year's Eve overnight is sponsored by the Ossabaw Island Foundation, and is designed for adults and for children age 12 and over. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult. // Fees include round trip transportation from Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island to Ossabaw Island's North End; meals, snacks and champagne toast; comfortable dormitory-style overnight accommodations in the Clubhouse on Ossabaw Island; plus the nature and astronomy programs. // Fees per person: Accommodations in the Club House: $200 Friends of Ossabaw. $250 for Future Friends of Ossabaw (includes "friend" membership).
