We often hear the complaints that there just isn't enough to do in Hinesville. Well folks, there will be plenty to do this weekend at LibertyFest.

Friday night (July 18th) activities will be held in Bradwell park from 6-10pm and include a street dance with DJ Chevy, Beverage Garden, Car Show (entries still being accepted), vendor village, and children's activites. The Bradwell Institute Flag Team will also perform as well the Awalim Belly Dance Troop from Atlanta. The Belly dancers will provide free mini-dance lessons for kids. I know what you are asking yourself . . . yes, adults can participate in the belly dancing too. Friday admission: FREE (there is a modest fee to enter your car/truck/motorcyle in the car show).

Saturday (July 19th) events will be held all day at the Sunbury Coast, starting at 10am. Events include a fishing tournment (entries still taken), kayaking, kids crabbing, kiddie rides, petting zoo, inflatables, mural coloring, boat rides, historic displays/re-enactments, beverage garden and vendor village. Stage performances throughout the day include local singers and dancers and ending up the lineup with "The River". The 2-day festival will be brought to a close Saturday evening with the fireworks display around 9pm. Admission is $5 during the day and $10 for the evening entertainment.

Please post any questions or comments you have to this blog.

So, plan to save your gas this weekend, stay in Liberty County and have a great time at LibertyFest.

I attended both days of Libertyfest last year and it was fabulous! I expect this year to be even better since they have made some changes and grown it even bigger. It's calling for rain tonight (fri) but typical GA storm means it will rain for about 30 minutes and be done so I encourage everybody to come out anyway, don't let the weather stop you. This is probably the best event in the county.
