Dear Friend,

Liberty Humane is a 501C3 non-profit no kill animal shelter located at 279 Briarwood Circle off Airport Road in Hinesville. We share a facility with the Liberty County Animal Control from which we get the majority of our cats and dogs. Animal Control hold them for a specified time to allow the owners to claim them but most ends up on death row to be euthanized. We save as many as we possibly can but our resources are limited. We have saved 273 cats and dogs from animal control and owner surrenders in 2008 and hope to save hundreds more. To date, we have altered 206 cats and dogs. We provide care for approximately 110 animals at our facility on average. During puppy and kitten season we have as many as 150.

We operate solely on donations and monies generated through our fundraisers. Our expenses by far exceed our income. Monthly expenses include wages, utilities, medications, vet bills, insurance, maintenance, etc. Adoption fees are $125.00 which barely covers our expense to spay/neuter, give shots, and microchip. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We fe el that we are a vital part of our community and provide a valuable service to the citizens. To date for 2008, we have facilitated 260 adoptions to families in or around the Hinesville/Fort Stewart area. We have held obedience classes, rabies clinics, micro chipping clinics, we are a community service outlet for the judicial system as well as for the school system, and provide information and a meeting point for a low cost spay/neuter clinic. WE WISH WE COULD DO MORE….

Our funds are at a critical level and we are counting on the support of our community. Without your help we may be forced to close our doors! Please help us so we can continue in our efforts to humanely care for the animals that our society has abandoned. Any consideration afforded us will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Liberty Humane Shelter

It breaks my heart too! If EVERYONE would be supportive and give just a little something it would turn around. It would be shameful for the citizens of this county to let us lose a community asset that proves it's value by saving animals lives. Saving 200-300 animals a year is a wonderful accomplishment and I can't understand anyone that would not appreciate the effort and be supportive. THANK YOU SINCERELY & GOD WILL BLESS YOU...
