Why I dislike technology

I don't like technology. I keep my use of it minimal. I have a cell phone that calls people. It also can be used for texting, but it has no Internet capabilities. And I have a laptop.

I do not have a smart phone, an iPad, a GPS, a tablet or any other "nifty" gadget. I prefer it that way.

Earlier this year, however, I couldn't deny my overwhelming desire for a Kindle. I love to read and they just seemed so cool. I waited and waited for the price to drop and when it finally hit $139, I caved and got one. I love it!

But now they've introduced the Kindle Fire for just $199. Dang it! That's why I hate technology. If I just would have waited a few more months, I could have gotten a much better Kindle for just $60 more. This is why I don't waste money on gadgets. As soon as you buy them, they're obsolete.

So, will I buy a Kindle Fire? Absolutely not. I'm not falling for that again!

This is so true. I have been in the technology business for years and have found that the next model is on the drawing board before anew product is released.

You should get a smartphone!

i can understand getting a smartphone if my business requires it, but those getting it for the streaming of movies and videos. Who would want to watch movies on a little 2-3 inch screen? I'd much rather have a tablet for that. On a recent hospital stay, my laptop saved my sanity. I could watch dvd's and stream my cherished Netflix through it. Doing that on a phone would drive me nuts.

Help catching spammers
November 29, 2011
Greeting, Courier readers and bloggers. We have had some luck with our new spam filter catching spammers. However, I'm worried it may be a little overzealous and we may be banning legitimate users from the site. So, I'm going to ask any new users to please do me a favor. ...
