Take Me To Post Comment Form The Luncthime Concert in the Park Series was launched in April, featuring the bluegrass/country music of the Restless Rebels. The concert was a huge success with an estimated crowd of over 250, downtown workers, students, retirees, and many community folks.

Even during the event, you were asking, "When is the next one?" We have heard you loud and clear (plus a little urging from the mayor) and have scheduled our next lunchtime concert for Thursday, July 10th from 11:30am to 1:30 pm. The featured band is straight from the U.S.Virgin Islands - the 73rd Army Nat'l Guard Band who is at Ft. Stewart for their annual training.

The band will feature their 32 members in a Calypso Combo, Steel Drum Ensemble, and Concert Band. A special thank you to CenturyTel (formerly Coastal Communications) for making this event possible. The concert series is a collarborative effort of the Hinesville Arts Council, Hineville Downtown Development Authority, and the Coastal Courier.

We hope to hold one concert per month through October this year and then build the event even more in 2009 (we just need weekly sponsors). Details of the August concert will be announced soon.
