Big things are coming to the www.coastalcourier.com and are scheduled to debut Sunday. It is the introduction of our new Community site with a new look and feel, and easier ways to contribute items that interest you; your pictures, your blogs, your events.
Unfortunately, the Community site will be down for a time Sunday, possibly much of the day. But its absence will be worth the wait.
On the new site, you'll also be able to send private message to other users, develop a group with similar interests, include photos and audio in your blogs, and rate items that are posted by others.
If everything works as expected you'll not notice anything different about getting to the site. Simply click on the Community link at the top of the front page, or on one the events or blogs on the lower left side of the front page. You'll jump right there.
As with the old site you'll be able to view much of the content on the new site without logging in. If you want to participate - post your pictures, write a blog or include an event on the calendar - you'll have to log in. But your existing username and password should get you in to participate.
As with many changes there will be problems in how things look and how you log in. But we're here to try to resolve any of those problems. If you run into a problem, email to webed@coastalcourier.com or call me at 876-0156, though I probably won’t be in the office much on Sunday.
