If you would like to know why Long County Board of Education taxes are high, go to https://www.audits.state.ga.us and view the salaries of our superintendant and his assistants.

okay, I am confused, how can you go from paying ONE superintendant around
$100,000 to paying double that for one and his "assistant"? I missed that Board meeting. My fault. Something just is not right.

The "powers that be" used to live in this community. If you go to the website regarding Homesteads and their location, you will find that they for the most part, no longer live in this community. They have moved to locations like The Landings, Saint Simons, coastal communities in McIntosh county...etc. And that they apparently have sold out and view Liberty County as nothing more than thier cash cow. They are not personally invested in the area other than fee collections and added taxes. They could care less about the welfare of the citizens actually living here. "They" are not directly impacted by the multitude of governmental dysfunction and are therefore not compelled to act on them.

I am a life-long resident and have watched the development of this Jekyll and Hyde persona come into being. It is sad but, unfortunatly very true.

You hit it right on JD. They don't care what they left the rest of us.
