ATLANTA – Secretary of State Brian Kemp reminds Georgians that today is the last day to register to vote or update their voter record for the May 22, 2018 General Primary and Nonpartisan Election.

“It has never been easier to get registered to vote in Georgia. You can register to vote using our online voter registration system, downloading the mobile ‘GA SOS’ app, or sending in a paper application,” said Secretary Kemp. “It is important to take part in this election cycle and make your voice heard, so I am encouraging all eligible Georgians to get engaged and head to the polls when in-person voting is underway.”

Georgia citizens can submit an electronic voter registration application with their Georgia driver’s license number or state-issued identification card number using Online Voter Registration (OLVR) or the free “GA SOS” mobile app for Apple and Android devices. Individuals can also mail in hard-copy voter registration applications to register to vote in Georgia or update their information.

All voter registration applications must be submitted or postmarked on or before Tuesday, April 24, 2018 to be processed for this May’s elections. Advance in-person voting will begin on Monday, April 30, 2018. The polls will also be open on Saturday, May 12, 2018. On Election Day, the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Any run-off elections will be held on July 24, 2018. The voter registration deadline for any federal run-offs is June 25, 2018. For all other run-offs, the voter registration deadline is April 24, 2018.

Qualified candidate information can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
