City of Hinesville Censorship? Or Greed?

I have been reading about sewer issues for years in Hinesville, yet the media always gives the City a favorable twist in the way they report it.

For example the latest spill in Taylor's Creek where thousands of gallons of raw sewage was dumped, the city officials say they acted quickly to contain the spill. That is the way the media reports it too, without investigating at all.

Yet did the officials really get it fixed rapidly and professionally?

Was there actually investigative reporting taking place?

The answer is a resounding NO!

I bet if you ask people living in the area, they will tell a different story.

Most people do not care until it involves them personally, but whats going on will eventually impact all of us, in one way or another. The sewer issue impacted me personally last year. Now i stay on top of everything that gets reported, but does it really get reported?

My experience with ESG, the Multi-Million dollar contract holder often denies responsibility to work on issues impacting the community. Their representatives say they have no crew to do anything at night, or on weekends even in emergencies.

In my experience from September 18, 2017, we had been arguing with ESG employees since October of 2016. We were having sewage backups into our house, we lost 1 tenant, and spent thousands on different plumbers. Yet they kept telling me the problem was in my pipes and my responsibility. I paid multiple plumbers then finally paid plumbers to excavate the pipes finding a root ball in the service lateral line. The city s responsibility.

Did ESG fix the problem? NOPE!

They measured, and measured, checked for calls to see if any other neighbors had problems. The pipe was exposed, but INSTEAD of inspecting the pipes, Kevin Williams of ESG said it was still my problem because no one else complained. They tried every way they could to avoid doing their job, what they are being paid millions to do.

The plumbers refused to fix the service lateral because they said the city could sue them. But the city refused to fix it too. Meanwhile we were about to loose another tenant!

BBB refused to take a complaint because its a government agency, even though they pay contractors to do work normally done by private enterprise.

The environmental protection said they could do nothing even though sewage was spilling in the dirt surrounding because the city had not capped the pipe properly.

City officials refused to do anything, and kept stonewalling me. I was told often to call employee after employee, no replies, or offers resolution. Finally the city contractor ESG removed the root ball, but broke my lateral in the process.

The city refused to reimburse me for any of the expenses their negligence, unprofessional workmanship caused.

And to sue them you have to file paperwork within 6 months stating all your losses, and it has to be completely correct or they barr you from suing in the courts. So you incur more cost because you have to hire an attorney and in most cases suits against government agencies are barred regardless.

This abuse of power and resources cost the citizens money, instead of fixing the problem. The city pays a local law firm for legal council, even though they have a city attorney, and on top of that he works for the same firm that the city pays more money. why is the city attorney paid to be the city attorney if the city has to pay his firm for consulting?

All the while they suppress the common mans rights, because he doesn't have the same resources, that we the citizens pay for. They abuse the system, and everyone makes money on a tragedy for home owners.

The kicker is, the news refuses to report it, they flat out turn a blind eye, or spin it in a way the city is the hero. I was asked if it was still an issue, the reporter said she would investigate, but she never called me back or said anything about what the abuse of powers that is going on in the City of Hinesville?

Why is it because the city of Hinesville is one of the biggest advertisers? One can only speculate.

Why cant the City of Hinesville be held responsible for their mistakes?

We as citizens would be if we made a mistake, no matter how long they take before the sue.

Why wont the local news report whats really happening?

Is America still a democracy, or are we living in a new Kingdom-ship?

In your case, I suggest requesting the city public works municipal sewer/water statement of work/agreement, lines of demarcation for who bears responsibility for repairs, and what is the breakdown of your fees for sewer and water and how that is applied to life-cycle maintenance/replacement requirements via FOIA/public records request. Typically there is always legal documents that are very specific regarding these areas as it is intended to define who is responsible for what. Standard Public Works agreements normally define anything on the home side of the clean out occupant responsibility; the service laterals should also be addressed and what the demarcation lines for repair/replacement are as well. I would start there as it is commonplace for entities that are faced with significant infrastructure repair to deny services while not being 100% cognizant of what their contractual responsibilities are. The bottom line; beat them with their own legal documents and what the attorneys agreed to, not what they want to do. best of luck!!!

As for your question regarding censorship of greed; personally, I feel it is laziness, apathy, and people not fulfilling the roles they were hired or elected to do.

Thanks HMJC, The service lateral an 8 inch pipe is the City's responsibility, without a doubt. But in my case, many agencies shared in being negligent, and refusing to do their work.

They know they are legally responsible, they just flat out refused to do the work, because when it was installed the City inspectors were negligent not catching an encroachment of the pipe past the city right of way. The city inspectors also failed to catch the fact that the pipe wasn't sealed properly by city works before it was buried.

I agree with you, but I wonder why the local news agency refuses to publish the story or even look into as one reporter said she would do.

This has cost my family almost 20,000 dollars due to their negligence and unprofessional behaviors. It is getting ready to cost us more.

We left Hinesville because we could not afford all the taxes, and fees the city has on utilities. We started renting it to pay our mortgage. I wish I could sell the property and be done with the City of Hinesville forever. Unfortunately I am in an upside down mode because of this issue and the trees broken by the storm. We never get anyone to do their job as they should and we keep having to pay for others to do the job of city employees.

The city added me in their spam filter so I can no longer send them email! what a bunch of jerks!

Give them a call and they will tell you if you have a case or not!

According to the laws, an whats ethical, I have case. The issue is, most people just stand by and do nothing. The city is encroaching everyone's proprieties in the neighbor hood, ye because it doesn't impact them now, they don't care. Amazing

I have a friend that lives in Midway she has a septic tank and the city start charging her for sewer, I'm not surprised.

icyman61 commented on Friday, Jan 12, 2018 at 11:10 AM

By the way thats raw sewage pouring out around the temporary cap, because the city failed to seal it properly. When they did finally reseal it, they refused to vacuum out the raw sewage.

Don't know why I didn't think of this before!

Welcome back Icy, I hope you get the results you deserve!

Thanks, unfortunately its not just about me, they encroached everyone's property. It just hasn't been an issue for anyone else. YET

By writing what you deserve, brings up interesting points.

What do I deserve, some who would lie, would say I deserve death, certain groups would agree, not because they know me, but because they believe the lies others tell them blindly without investigating.

To some hidden groups in the USA, anyone who speaks out about injustice, deserves to die, or be institutionalized. Some groups of people seek to silence others, who like me speak out, calling them a threat. When the only true threat is those who seek to oppress those speaking out against tyrants who would stop at nothing to silence their Opposition. We have seen over the last few years murders, people framed by corrupt police, corrupt FBI agents using COINTELPRO tactics to harass, jail, sometimes murder people for no reason other than they made logical sence when debating or talking about something these people did not want to be seen. This is real, they lie and say whatever but it is going on now.

An example, more than 30 some odd holistic Doctors have been murdered in the last year because they were trying to help humanity in the fights against cancer, autism, and other things that are caused by external environment factors.

What I deserve, we deserve, all of us, is the same liberties the rich enjoy, the same benefits the politicians, every government employee enjoys, free medical care, free insurance, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY equality. When I look at City Budgets I am appalled, they work for us, yet they think they are above us.

I love my country but dislike what I see politicians doing over and over, if you speak out, they try to attack you, in one way or another. Many abuse their power, there are still good ones out there, but its tough for them, due to the corruption in our government.

I haven't been posting because, my family got 2 close encounters where people tried to make us wreck, run us off the road into trees, and one time into a river, for no reason. And we had a strange unexplained explosion that almost killed us. I stopped posting here and anywhere else. I just thought maybe some wackos didn't want me to post, so I stopped.

The issue I am having now, with the city is ridiculous, and its going to have an impact on many, just not right now. So most people wont care, or say anything.

Me, I love my country, but I think government officials are out of hand. We need to change things, get them to be accountable to us again. Not them crushing us like bugs. We need to use our laws and speak out against the injustices they commit.

A few years older and wiser, I know not everything is black and white, sometimes things can be twisted, people are framed, and sometimes they die unexpectedly under strange circumstances. Its an ugly world we live in, this world is Satan's. The bible says that.

So for now, I will try to fix this alone, as I have for many years, every time something pops up.

God blesses me though, and helps me, and I am grateful!
