An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolent, empathy, geneorosity, truth and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed!" A great lesson for all of us. Makes you stop and think, which wolf am I feeding.

I have heard this before. It is always refreshing to read it again, especially as Christmas approaches.

Inner hate will actually kill the hater ultimately.

We are all different and we are all guaranteed the basic right of:

We are not promised happiness nor is our government responsible for our happiness.

Sheran, I am not sure how this has anything to do with welfare. Please enlighten me.

The Old Cherokee is saying very much what the prayer of St. Francis does.

The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is dispair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I read this a few times " "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed!" therefore I posted the first thing that popped into my head.

How we live our life concerns how we treat those with whom we disagree as much if not more than how we treat those with whom we agree. It is kind of hard at times but we should make the effort.
