Congress recently allowed the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provided low-cost health insurance to 9 million children, to expire. Why? I'm glad you asked; Tax Cuts for the RICH-TOP 1% & TRUMP FAMILY.

This hits home. Below the Number of children in Liberty, Long, and Wayne that rely on the program.

Georgia Liberty County 26% rely on the CHIP program
Georgia Long County 36% rely on the CHIP program
Georgia Wayne County 38%

If action is not taken soon to restore the funding, the effects will become obvious in schools across the country, with many of the children in the program unable to see a doctor for routine checkups, immunizations, visits when sick and other services.

9 million kids get health insurance under CHIP. Congress just let it expire. http://wapo.st/2yQir0K?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.815bf03e2b84

May be if democrats would stop being just plain anti-trump with everything and allow cuts to programs that we can't afford. There would be no need to not renew programs that run out.

HMJC commented on Monday, Nov 27, 2017 at 15:10 PM

The Tax cuts are not passed by Congress yet. Any program experiencing funding issues can thank the Nobama administration for implementing a program that was only funded up front and false assumptions that other programs would make up the shortfall. Nobama Care was doomed to fail from its inception; the Dem thought process was that Congress would have to continue to hemorrhage money to sustain the program because the Genie was already out of the bottle.

As for the funding expiring; that is part of the checks and balances to revisit previous legislation to ensure it is meeting its desired intent and continues to be fiscally sound. Does this need to be addressed in a timely manner? Yes, but not without objective review and making sure those who are receiving benefits are eligible and adhering to program guidelines Once Again, the Sky is not Falling,

PoliticsNation commented on Monday, Nov 27, 2017 at 16:19 PM

The sky is falling for 9 million children that may lose healthcare. And this program wasn't started under President Obama.

PoliticsNation commented on Monday, Nov 27, 2017 at 16:21 PM

The Republicans don't need the Democratic party votes on anything. Trump and the GOP govern all three branches of government. The problem--they can't govern.

Funkentelecky commented on Monday, Nov 27, 2017 at 21:55 PM

PN, I bet you can't even name all 3 branches of government?

wood17 commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 10:10 AM

The house bill to renew CHIP funding passed in early November with 171 Democrats voting NO. The Democrats do not like any Republican plans. They then vote against them and blame Republicans for killing poor children. Republicans better grow a backbone and not be brow beaten by petty partisan political tactics of the left. Cry wolf and then sabotage anyone who comes to save little red riding hood. Solid Democrat tactic for years.

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 10:21 AM

@Wood tell the entire story? They wanted to tax our seniors! Tax our seniors and give tax cuts to the RICH!

The vote was along party lines and reflected concerns over how Republicans in the House want to pay for continuing the Children's Health Insurance Program. There were three Republicans who voted against the bill, while only 15 Democrats supported it.

The Healthy Kids Act extends CHIP's federal funding for five years and funding for federally qualified health centers for two years. Federal funding for those facilities lapsed on Sept. 30, the same day CHIP lost its funding.

Prior to Friday's vote, House Democrats slammed Republican proposals to pay for the bill by charging higher Medicare premiums to seniors earning more than $500,000, shortening the grace period for people who don't pay their Affordable Care Act marketplace premiums from 90 days to 30 days, and also redirecting money from the ACA's prevention and public health fund to community health centers.

wood17 commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 11:13 AM

The affordable care act is an unmitigated disaster. The fact that even 15 Democrats were in support is a huge surprise. Did you say earning more that $500,000.00? Wowza! That is rich coming from a Democrat. Top end tax rates for top earners under Clinton was around 80 percent. No comparison whatsoever. My parents' premiums since Obamacare was passed have gone up over 100%. Close to half of what they earn goes to Health Care premiums. My dad is retired and on Social Security. The fact is, Democrats will never support a meaningful Republican sponsored bill. Democrats bellyached for years under Obama that the Republicans were obstructionists. The shoe is on the other foot. Democrats own high taxes and aborting children. It's really tough to use that argument.

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 11:39 AM

Deflection isn't an explanation. This has nothing to do with Obama or Obama care. This has to do with 9 million children losing healthcare. This program was put in place BEFORE Obama took office.

However, when conservatives have no explanation regarding the topic they deflect to Obama. media Hillary or the NFL.

The talking point is getting old.

wood17 commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 12:08 PM

Everything to do with OBAMACARE.

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 12:43 PM

Question, please explain to me how the GOP is governs the Judicial Branch "Supreme Court"?

wood17 commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 12:58 PM

That's a good question Funk. I admit I missed that one.

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 13:05 PM

It's another liberal progressive talking point and PN is there "Puppet"

timeontarget commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 16:35 PM

Funk you are correct. We all need to be sure of comments being correct lest we demonstrate our ignorance.

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 16:58 PM

@tot or Wood--dispute one thing I posted that isn't true?

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 17:02 PM

One error--I meant to type they own all three houses and they do. They don't need dem votes at all.

Republicans now control the presidency, the Senate, and the House.

They Control the legislative branch..No excuses.

Republicans now control the presidency, the Senate, and the House https://www.vox.com/presidential-elec...

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 17:31 PM

That’s my point PN, why should anyone believe anything you post when you don’t even know the 3 branches of government in its true form. When you said it I knew it was an ignorant progressive liberal talking point meaning Executive President The House and Senate. You shouldn’t have to pull up a link to know that the Legislative Branch “Congress” has two “Chambers” but is only one Branch.

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 17:36 PM

@funk-I know the 3 branches of government. If it makes you feel good to harp on a mistake and attack my intelligence then go for it. I'm sure it makes you feel like a real man.

PoliticsNation commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 17:39 PM

Everyone knows you like cooning for the folks on this blog. However, that cooning didn't help you keep that job at Gulf Stream did it? Don't come for me unless I call you.

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 18:19 PM

All I really want is for you to actually give all sides a chance. I denounce and point out what’s wrong from the establishment on both sides. The side that is killing this country the most have gotten a free pass from you because you fail to keep your enemies close. You have to go into the lions den to learn the truth however you only do research on your front porch.

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 19:34 PM

Here comes the real PN, I didn't see that jab so let's do it.

I had a stellar job performance record at Gulfstream and yes that corporation is people to like Mitt Romney said. I got laid off because of "Loss of work" received a generous severance package and also took an early retirement FYI along with a nice 401k package that has grown at a rate 4 times higher than when the anti-capitalist was killing the economy. and jobs including mine. From March 2004 to the March 2009 I earned a promotion and pay raises from 4.0 to 8.0 percent with my stellar job performance. COLA increases ranged from 2.7 to 5.8 percent and we had one medium layoff that I survived in 2009. From March 2009 to March 2016 I earned another promotion and measly pay raise from 2.0 to 3.5 percent with outstanding work performance . Pathetic COLA increases of 0 percent 2 times and 0.2 to 2.0 Percent for 5 years under the anti-capitalist and his job killing policies. However you don't know anything about real work or paying real taxes as a government worker because you really don't pay taxes because your salary and wag s is money taken from my free market paycheck that is paid to the government. It's amazing how ignorant government workers like you are. And it's understandable one of the reasons you keep your
your identity hidden because you sit there and blog while at work on taxpayer money. Won't accept responsibility for your own actions. Everyone goes through setbacks in life but it's what you do in that situation that defines you. Gulfstream is a great organization and I'm honored to have given 12 years and 3 months of my life working there. I have moved forward and have no animosity towards Gulfstream. I'm doing a job I like working on another retirement pension
But I won't disclose what I'm doing now to a racist female ant-capitalist hater like you.

Come on let's do this out in the open you angry government working black female racist

"@tot or Wood--dispute one thing I posted that isn't true?"

This statement is not true.

timeontarget commented on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 at 19:43 PM

The statement about the Republican party controlling the three branches of government is not true. They do not control the Judicial branch.

timeontarget commented on Wednesday, Nov 29, 2017 at 07:03 AM

Not sure just what cooning means. Please explain.

@funk--I don't work for the government. I currently work for myself. You kept attacking me. I tried to ignore you but you kept coming for me so I gave you a taste of your own medicine. I admit, I went too far but it's done now. Forgive me.

This is for you funk!

Cooning....?

wayne44 commented on Wednesday, Nov 29, 2017 at 13:30 PM

Cooning-"Cooning is when a self-hating African-American plays the fool for a White audience in exchange for the limited social acceptance the latter are willing to give within their racial heirarchy." Im my humble opinion this slur does not pertain to Funk at all. The problem is Funk thinks for himself and apparently that is a no-no to liberal African-Americans. This tax bill will go through more revisions and I for one am willing to wait for the final version before passing judgement on who benefits and who doesn't. Funk, keep on keeping on.

timeontarget commented on Wednesday, Nov 29, 2017 at 16:45 PM

If you are a contractor who is contracting with the government you are a government employee.

Are you possibly a minority contractor?

Just asking.
