Well my Friends, the topic of many blogs concerning the removing, re-naming, or defacing any Monument, Statue, Memorial, Sidewalk Art, Grave, basically anything that may have a tie to a turbulent time in our history Has Come Home…

There are talks already going on in Savannah to “address” potential offensive Landmarks, Names, Knew Someone Owned a Slave, Related to Someone Who Owned Slaves, or watched the movie Roots needs an assessment as to whether or not they are no longer worthy to stand or lie where the stand.

Our History is our History!!! The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly happened. Regardless of which side of history you were on during that snapshot the time; that has no bearing on how you want history to remember you now.

All of the attention on the past; to keeps us bound to the past. The future has always been about moving forward, trying not to make the same mistakes along the way and always face forward.

We are living in turbulent times; we as a people need to start coming together again; United in cause, focused on the human condition, and co-existence as a People, facing forward together.
I said it once and I will say it again


Don’t Judge Yourself by your Past; You don’t Live there anymore.

Amen! Well put! The problem is that our current leader in this country has been right at the top of the list dividing this country. Many folks unfortunately will not come together until our leader stands and works for all Americans. This country was built on the backs of slaves, sharecroppers and the many hundreds of thousand of our ancestors who immigrated here. We are a nation of many colors, religions and languages and our current leader is promoting white supremacy period. Many of us are activist in our own right and working on our local levels to bring unity among all people, all Americans, however this currents country leader keeps trying to divide us. You are correct we should not live in the past however this current leader makes it hard for many to move forward by trying to keep us in the past. What needs to happen at top federal level is congress to grow a pair and reel 45 in or we will start voting them out one by one come midterm elections in 2018, 2020, and 2022. WE HOLD THE POWER to start at our local levels and start voting out folks of the party currently in office nationally and work our way up to state level with our governors and federal with any sitting senator up for re-election in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

We can for ourselves become proactive in getting involved with our neighbors and bonding, and get involved in what our sitting city council representatives are doing or not doing for us and remove them come election time if they are not proactive with folks in their districts.

LCarol, I agree that that Donald Trump words may divide some however it unite's some too. However its a fact that "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" and his actions are of the best intent for All Americans. Strong National Defense, Secure Borders, Strong Economy, Rule of Law, etc, etc, etc. John McCain, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins are RINO'S and a part of the establishment that is in the business of suppressing good willed Americans like you and I. When Barack Hussein Obama was running for President he said there are no red states or blue states but the United States. He said he would reach across the aisle with Republicans to pass bi-partisan legislation, he said he would cut the deficit in half and that he would "Fundementally Transform America" Well he and Eric Holder are significant contributors to the divisiveness of this nation. If Obama had been like MLK for the unity of America he wouldn't have alienated w the Republicans when they reached out to participate in the Trillion Dollar stimulus I quote "The Republicans ran the car in the ditch (Economy) now they want the keys back" and on Healthcare "The Republicans can join in but they have to get in the back (Of the Bus)". And what about "The Cambridge Police Acted Stupidly" Do you consider these words and actions divisive too?

Funk, Once again I say that facts do not matter when it comes to President Trump. Folks have made up their mind that he is pushing White Supremacy and nothing will change their minds. Obama, Holder, and Lynch did more to divide this country than anyone else but you don't hear anyone accusing them of promoting Black Supremacy.
Unity only comes when the name calling and accusations stop. However, I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.
