Next Question…

What is your interpretation of what “Taking a Knee” Represents? Please only comment on what your take is on the concept; not the people involved.

As for me… “Taking a Knee” has many facets. It is hard to try and break it down to one or two things, however, in this case, I think the biggest shortfall that comes to mind in this instance; “Division”

This affected the outcome of many games last week. You could see the tension on the sidelines, the division among players and coaches. Whether you took a knee or not a “side” was chosen regardless if you wanted to be embroiled in the controversy.

Monday morning comes and now the whole Nation is embroiled and divided. TV personalities, Politicians, “Professional Athletes”, and all the in-between fan the fire of discourse and “Un-Justice”. There is no proposed solution; just personal angst.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL radio last year. At least 223 black Americans have been killed by police since Kaepernick first knelt in August 2016.” (PN Blog Excerpt)

This is the in between… Please note that PN did not write this but felt it was important to extenuate the narrative of the half of the story comments and assumptions without all of the contributing factors. One being, how many other ethnicities were shot by law enforcement during the same snapshot in time? Keyword all… not just Black and White, all.

In short… until “Taking a Knee” has a collective voice and desired actionable intent; just another football game I have to turn off because I turned it on to watch a game; not watch the news…

Naw... Just a well thought out response; would have been nice if you provided your well thought out response to my question. I know that might take ya a bit so no rush... Take your Time... The whole point of this blog is to try and get some of you out there a little closer to the screen. It's outstanding to have another opinion, what isn't outstanding is not having the conviction of your own personal beliefs and values to state it

Gateway Drug(s) or an Excuse?
December 07, 2017 This article illustrates the folly of employing “Scare Tactics” and Interdiction as the primary way to fight the War on Drugs. This goes all the way back to Refer Madness; PSA’s of teenagers being “whacked out” and doomed to fail in life if they even think about smoking the ...
