The present Superintendent of Schools, has just thrown down the gauntlet at the feet of the Courier. Using the Progress Through People platform to discredit the Courier's reportage regarding her eliminating the STAR Program.

Well I think the Courier needs to dig deeper into Dr. Lee e.g. Her not being selected to the Birmingham Superintendent position, her resume entailing questionable references, grammar and other areas. Also, the Liberty County BOE minutes and what is really in them needs further exploration. The law requires it, yet it is not followed completely. One thing of importance involving State monies sent to Liberty BOE NOT being used for teachers or students in to-to. Somehow a large portion of that money wound up in the Superintendent's paycheck.

I have received emails from those in the school system wishing to retain anonymity that attest to morale issues, intimidation issues, and supply issues running rampant within the ranks of the teachers in the LCSS.

Clearly something is wrong here and needs, no it DEMANDS, further questioning.

Dr. Lee has openly questioned the efficacy of the Coastal Courier's reporting.

The question before us is: will the Courier respond to the public tarnishing of their reputation?

Mr. McAbee deserves time to pursue these issues regarding the LCSS. Will he get it?

If not, then is tyrant spelled with a small t or a capital T?

I implore Mr. Griffin and Ms. Barnidge to give this issue all the coverage it deserves. It involves tax dollars, the BOE, teachers, and more importantly our children.

Don't back off. The Liberty County Community deserves to hear what the Courier has to say. Freedom of the Press is a Constitutionally sacred responsibility. Please honor it.
