Republican's Epic Failure

While conservatives are busy throwing everything including the kitchen sink at BHO they conveniently ignore their own epic failings. In particular, the immigration controversy. I am posting below the opinion of three prominent billionaires, with differing political view points, who have quite successfully made their way in the world utilizing good judgment and ingenuity to harness the American Dream. Something immigrants, apparently also desire to do.

"Three of the world's wealthiest men have a message for Congress: Get your act together on immigration reform. "Americans deserve better than this," wrote Las Vegas Sands' Sheldon Adelson, Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway, and former Microsoft chairman and chief executive, Bill Gates in an opinion piece in The New York Times. "American citizens are paying 535 people to take care of the legislative needs of the country. We are getting shortchanged," they wrote in the scathing op-ed. They said that although each of them has different political views, they could come together to write a piece of immigration legislation all could agree on. So why can't Congress do the same? They said that if Congress showed signs of cooperation, it would lift the national spirit and stimulate the economy. The business magnates also said it "bordered on insanity" to encourage foreign students to study in the U.S., and then "deport them when they graduate."

You see people, a predominantly Republican Congress is very good at deflecting their epic failure onto one man, BHO, but fail miserably in shouldering or even trying to solve the problems facing America. In this case, authoring up a reasonable immigration policy.

Thank God for a pen, a phone, and the power of executive orders.

Jimmy, isn't a Republican Epic a Failure because of these facts. Last year the senate passed immigrating reform legislation and the template was good and had bi-partisan ship; however the Republicans wanted border enforcement to be added to the legislation and I agree with that. See your outstanding blog here.

However President Obama have used a pen and phone to re-write and change the law while not enforcing and protecting our borders. His executive orders are responsible for the humanitarian problem that we have at the border right now and he expects an equL branch that holds the purse strings to just give him money to speed up the transition for thes illegal immigrants to live in America. This country can't afford to Osborn any more folk that we can't ensure that they will contribute to our society. Obama needs to go to the birder to get a reality check but I think he's scared to do do because he knows he will have to deal with the reality of the situation and would have to explain his incompetent actions to people like this.

Why didn't Obama sign executive orders to protect the border, if he had I would also say "thank God for a pen and a phone" however he didn't do this and he isn't a Monarch or a King!

JimmyMack commented on Friday, Jul 11, 2014 at 19:11 PM

@Funk. Yep, the Demo Senate did in fact do their job. But, the do-nothing Republican Congress did NOT do theirs!

Funkentelecky commented on Friday, Jul 11, 2014 at 19:20 PM

Jimmy you completely skipled over the fact the border hadn't been secured first. You to fix the leak first before you solve problem. In the case of the ACA the Democrats blew up the whole building instead fixing the leak which was the 1.5M with pre-existing conditions who could have been taken care of without the ACA :D

@Funk. I will forward your thoughts to Adelson, Buffett, and Gates. They must have missed that too!!! :)

gacpl commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 09:06 AM

Adelson, Buffett, and Gates are all super rich people that make almost no money from mexicans in mexico. but if a million+ cross the boarder they will make money from them when they grow up. the rich that have it made want them for a more future customers.

read up on the The Cloward-Piven Strategy, and think of the book animal farm. remember the quote, "some animals are more equal then others"
they know they will still be on top and it will make it so that no one will ever make it to their level financially.

I'm sorry gacpl but I do not believe for one minute that they made their collective statements because they 'want more customers.' They already have more money than they need.

The fact is Conservatives refuse to take any responsibility in this immigration mess and everyone of them have failed to do the job voting Americans sent them to do. They are just as much if not more so guilty of the claims they make against Obama and his job performance.

gacpl commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 15:10 PM

The boarder needs sealed that's all it would have taken to prevent this. The dems are just seeing future voters for themselves. Not what's best for the country. If they were believed to be future gop voters. Obama would have the army holding it shut Obama has refused to close it. And that is a fact

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 15:56 PM

Well gacpl, you certainly have a right to your opinion. I will only comment, that 'sealing the borders' has a Berlin Communist ring to it. And, America is a nation of immigrants. We should not have to seal our borders to those wishing to better their lives. We should, however, have a cogent policy of assimilation to deal with immigrants. And it is my contention that Republicans have failed miserably to develop such legislation and instead have played politics with human suffering and focused their collective energy into placing the blame for their failure on Barrack Obama.

And as far as Obama having the army holding the border doors shut if they believed it was future GOP voters coming in is not a fact, my friend. That is partisan speculation.

Funkentelecky commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 18:17 PM

Jimmy you are a smart man but comparing the Berlin Wall to the US and Mexican border is like comparing apples to oranges. The Berlin Wall separated the country of Germany East and West. No comparison at all my friend.

Jimmy did you watch the video with my fellow siesta in arms pleading the whitehouse to do something about the debacle. Because we are a nation of immigrants don't mean illegals can have unwarranted access. Obama,Reid and even you don't know what true compromise is. The Republicans say seal off the border and I will work with you; however Obama says he has a pen and a phone and re-writing law to fit his political needs which is the cause of this humanitarian problem.

gacpl commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 20:38 PM

the Berlin wall was to hold people in. big difference from protecting your country's sovereignty from foreign invaders. when the Mexicans out number Americans the USA will just be northern mexico. then what will be left for your grand kids and further generations?

Sheran commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 21:35 PM

Wall or "No Wall" that is the question? No wall, who's coming threw the back door that hates us? Who's coming threw with new diseases or the ones we already put to sleep? We all have children and grand children that we want to protect... How can we do this with out protecting our borders?

JimmyMack commented on Monday, Jul 14, 2014 at 16:03 PM

Congress is the biggest impediment to solving the immigration problem. Not BHO.

JimmyMack commented on Monday, Jul 14, 2014 at 16:24 PM

"The Obama administration IS NOT enforcing immigration laws, and has been actively encouraging the current immigration crisis in order to gain future Dem voters. WE THE PEOPLE now clearly see this, and Obama and his henchmen will pay for it on election day. This is just another issue which demonstrates that the Obama administration doesn't have a clue about how to govern this country."

Yeah, Sebe, I guess Adelson, Buffett and Gates are wrong and you are right! BTW: Where do you keep your billions?

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 09:59 AM

Ok then Jimmy so is it ok for me to send my kids to your house and camp out in your yard?

JimmyMack commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 10:05 AM

Sure Funk! After Congress passes a reasonable and practical immigration policy.

Funkentelecky commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 12:15 PM

@Jimmy that's exactly what's happening now at the border. The border patrol is baby sitting instead of keeping the border closed

timeontarget commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 15:58 PM

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R.) said on CBS on Sunday that the president is ultimately responsible for the border crisis.

Perry said he alerted the president in May 2012 to the flood of alien children who were traveling north on trains “and we laid out exactly what we felt was going to happen if we didn’t address that.”

“And now we’re seeing that become reality, with literally tens of thousands of these young children making this long, arduous, very dangerous trip, being separated from their parents,” Perry said on “Face the Nation.”

“And it could have been stopped years ago had the administration listened, had the administration been focused on the border with Texas,” Perry said.

JimmyMack commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 16:53 PM

Well OF COURSE he said that TOT! Perry is a Right wing full of Texas Swagger tough talking REPUBLICAN who wants to have OBAMA'S job for gawd sake! At one point in his political career he voiced the 'possibility' of Texas seceding from the Union! His political pedigree REQUIRES him to BLAME the President for everything, including the measles and the drought in Texas!

Anyway: why are you talking to me? I thought you said you saw no need to communicate with me?

JimmyMack commented on Tuesday, Jul 15, 2014 at 17:12 PM

W. had the opportunity to do address the immigration issue during his two terms. He was from Texas and understood the problem. However rather than fix things at home he was led astray by Karl Rove, and the Republican War Hawks to go make war in the Mid-East. This problem did not come about overnite or just when BHO assumed office.

JimmyMack commented on Sunday, Jul 20, 2014 at 16:11 PM

Not while Karl Rove is in the picture and the Republican War Hawks. Republicans are fall on your face failures on SOCIAL Policy and have a ways to go to convince women that they've got their backs. Which in reality they do not.

Republicans just may split into two parties. Establishment Republicans and Tea Party Republicans. I look forward to that day.
