Boehner's Gridlock Mission

Take Me To Post Comment Form

President Theodore Roosevelt enacted 1,081 executive orders during his presidency. President Dwight Eisenhower had 484. President Ronald Reagan had 381. And President George W. Bush had 291.

You would think that the Speaker of the House would have more important things to do rather than pull a political stunt of threatening to sue the POTUS for something the President has done less of then other Presidents including three previous Republican Presidents. But that is not the case. Executive orders are nothing new and Boehner knows this but he seems intent on wasting tax dollars in pursuing a Don Quixote quest to SUE the President for doing his job.

This action, if followed thru by Boehner, only further diverts a do-nothing Republican Congress, from performing their duties. And they foolishly now want to sue the President for actually DOING his job!

Republicans have been intent on overseeing the task of making sure that this President is perceived as a failure in the public eye. They have tried to obstruct his policies at his every attempt to get things done.

BHO the worst President since WWII? No. This Congress the worst in American History? Definitely. And THEIR leader is a fool.

BTW: the number of Executive Orders issued by Obama: 182. Yet Republicans foolishly wish to paint BHO as 'an imperial president.' How utterly ridiculous. They should do their jobs and stop enhancing gridlock and political polarization.

The FACTS don't lie... Regardless of the poor performance of Congress; the one sitting at the head of the table is still culpable for everything under him. Nobama hands down has been the most ineffective president. He has made it an art blaming everything and everyone for his shortcomings. It is important to also recognize that he has been just as uncooperative with Congress and on many occasions been downright brash stating it is his way or nothing.

His only "accomplishments" to date is progress for the gay community and, oh wait there is nothing else. Nothing. He has divided this country and set back race relations decades. His time in office can be summed up as "it's not my fault" Maybe not all but once again, just as Shinseki was pretty much forced to step down for his agencies failures; where does that leave him...

JimmyMack commented on Monday, Jul 07, 2014 at 17:18 PM

Hi HMJC. I whole heartedly disagree, my friend. The hostility that this President has had to face is unparalleled with any other POTUS in history. How many Presidents of the US have been heckled by a Congressman during the State of the Union as Joe Wilson did? How many sitting Presidents have gotten off of Air Force One and had a Governor approach them in an angry manner while waving a finger in their face as the Arizona Governor did to BHO? How many Presidents in the early months of their Presidency had a sitting Senator state that it was his mission 'to make Obama a one term President' before seeing any proposed legislation coming from the White House?
How many Presidents have had talk radio or T.V. talking heads say that "they hope he fails' before attempting to initiate any of his administration's policies?

The answer is not one. BHO crashed thru the gates of an overly self important, boys of privilege, members only, D.C. country club mentality.

And they, 'by gawd', were not about to put up with it.

gacpl commented on Monday, Jul 07, 2014 at 17:29 PM

how many presidents have gone out of their way to step on states rights? one, that's why he was told off at the airport.

how many presidents have told out right lies when talking to congress and the people? one, that's why joe called it out.

the other stuff has gone on in all presidency's, the press just didn't report it. they leave out a lot of the news that the dems don't want made public.

HMJC commented on Tuesday, Jul 08, 2014 at 08:43 AM

I do respect your perspective however; why were these circumstances occurring? I do concede that there has been a significant amount of wrangling but once again; the one in charge has ultimate culpability. The negative responses are directly related to his own personal agenda and unwillingness to make legitimate concessions to keep the legislative process working. At the ends of the day his "legacy" will not be pretty and like it or not; most of it is his own fault. No matter how much effort is expended to deflect, blame, or make excuses for a 6 year linty of failure; the FACTS will tell the story.

PULLIAM commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 10:30 AM

If they would only work together!!!!!!

PULLIAM commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 10:43 AM

They are destroying this country. If they could only accept the fact that the president is African American. Yes, I said it. We all know it is true. It is funny that the ones that are degrading the president are mostly republicans, especially white men, and Sarah Palin. I may be the only Republican over the age of 50, a white man from the South that can say this with a straight face. Racism will be the downfall of this country. Bush and yes I voted for him, left this country in hell and we are still suffering from it. After all he took us to Iraq and left us there, an let's not forget about 9/11. We are still fighting a war that he started. I have been around for many presidents, and Obama is definitely not the worse. I wonder who were the ones voting in the polls displayed by CNN. All I can say is God Bless us all!!!!!!!

JimmyMack commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 10:48 AM

@Pulliam: Very insightful commentary.

HMJC commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 14:19 PM

Sorry, not buying the race card. Too many mistakes and bad decisions. Color has nothing to do with that; lack of experience does.

PULLIAM commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 14:47 PM

I am definitely not one to play the race card, after all I am white. We are all here stating our opinions on what we hear, read, or see in the media, and I have yet to see a president pass or present that have followed the Constitution. They all lie. We can debate and post blogs everyday, but in the end we will support whatever party we represent, whether they are right or wrong. The GOP have proven over the last 12 years how useful they are and what they represent, and it is definitely not the American people. When 2016 come, we will blame whomever the next person in office is. The democrats will blame the republicans, the republicans will blame the democrats. It always have and always will be that way.

JimmyMack commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 14:55 PM

Not personally 'playing' the race card here fellas. Just showing you an article and interview of someone else who believes BHO's race is a factor. However, having grown up in the South some of what Mr. Collier says is very true. Republicans have political differences with BHO, I understand that. But one cannot exclude RACE as being in some of their hearts. It would be naïve to suggest otherwise.

Are you saying that absolutely with 100% certainty that Race is not at least a minimal factor in some of BHO's critics? You cannot.

I think Mr. Collier is on point and it would be disingenuous to disregard his assertions regarding some of the virulence directed at BHO. Like it or not, we ARE a racially divided society. All one really has to do is look at Sundays. The MOST racially divided day of the week. What, pray tell, do yall call that? Why are we divided along racial lines when it comes to worshipping in God's House? Why is that?

Calling a noting of this division is NOT playing the Race card. It is shining a light on the Racial Divide that is a fact. Not a political ploy.

JimmyMack commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 15:37 PM

Regarding Immigration: We cannot STOP people from wanting to come here. We can tho take steps to control it. But so far BHO is the only one that is attempting to do that. The do-nothing Republican Congress is out to lunch or getting ready for their lengthy summer vacation.

How do you think we caught all them children and women coming across the Border? It's because the Border watch is working.

PULLIAM commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 15:37 PM

Like I said, we will side with who we support whether they are right or wrong!!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

JimmyMack commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 15:47 PM

@Pulliam: Not to put a label on you or put you 'in a box.' but it appears you are a true Centrist. We NEED moderates on these pages if for no other reason to show the differences between those of us on the LEFT and those on the Right. Or Center-Right. :)

Funkentelecky commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 18:21 PM

Jimmy please update yourself on the actual facts Obama signed executive orders that allowed over 800, 000 illegals to over stay there visa, he has not I enforced the immigration laws that are already on the books. He'll he don't even enforce Obamacare. Congress has been grated the power for immigration not the president. His lawlessness has evolved into this debacle at the borders as he intended to. Why would I or even congress want to work to pass a law when you know that leaderless executive won't enforce it?

I don't like it when people play the race card and most Americans I know dint give a hoot about Obama's color it's his inexperience and failed policies.

Once upon a time a long, long time ago a child's race was determined by his mother in this country until white men started having babies from black slaves.

At the least Obama is multi racial just like tiger woods and he is definitely an African American; however he is NOT a black man like me,Ben Carson, Herman Cain etc, etc etc because he wasn't born to two blacks a man and a women and wasn't raised in a black neighborhood and learned black culture. He uses what he looks like to gain unwarranted sympathy from people who are dedicated Democrats and don't care about the rule of law on the federal level.

PULLIAM commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 20:56 PM

I rest my case!!!!! As I stated, we are all entitled to our opinion, that is why we blog. In the end, no one is wrong or right, just our opinions!!!!!!

Funkentelecky commented on Wednesday, Jul 09, 2014 at 22:16 PM

No sir apparently you don't understand rule of law Article I Section 8 of the constitution states congress shall have power to establish an uniform Rule of a Naturalization. So we conservatives are right and you are wrong this isn't an opinion end of the story. Liberal progressives democrats attempt to change history and make their own rules like Saul Alinsky "Rules for Radicals" Obama learned well!

Wow-wee Funk. So....Obama just ain't black enough for your litmus test regarding trials and tribulations?

And you wish to put Democrats inside some sort of a box that labels us as "uncaring and lawless?

Please examine your words.

Funkentelecky commented on Friday, Jul 11, 2014 at 18:54 PM

My words are in grape real very true Jimmy. Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 and within 2-3 years Barack Sr abandoned him and his mother Stanley Ann Dunham and she met and married an Indonesian Lolo Setara and moved to his homeland where Barry was raised in that culture until he was around 10 years old. Lolo was a conservative so Ann sent Barry back to Hawaii to be raised by his grandparents. Barry has a very good multi-cultural upbringing but it was almost without any personal black influence except for the radical Frank Marshall Davis. Barry didn't see his father at all except for a couple of visits before his death in 1982 car crash. Barry went to the most prestigious private schools in Hawaii and graduated fron Punahua in 1979. Then he went to Occidental College and the to Harvard Law school I have conducted my research on this guy and in no way can I try or diminish his success in life but for a fellow man to look like I can tell you with a straight face that he don't know black culture like me Herman Cain or Ben Carson. I experienced the water fountains the Klan , no hit running water, sleeping 3 to a bed and using an outhouse May God bless you and America but the President don't know black like us he tries to play it for political reasons and I would surmise that MLK is rolling over in his grave because Obama has blown a GOLDEN opportunity to UNITE this GREAT Country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My words in general are true!

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 06:20 AM

"My words in general are true!:

I ain't positively 100% sure about that Funk. Maybe you should take a poll on the matter.?!

Funkentelecky commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 13:43 PM

Yes Jimmy, I agree its not 100% correct that's why I say in general. It's just like your position about GWB that he don't undestand poor folk cause he was born with a silver spoon. Obama don't have a negro dialect said Harry Reid. Obama was born with a silver spoon and didn't endure any of the oppression that I have been called a nigger too! Obama was in Indonesia and Hawaii esposed to a great multi-culture upbringing while we faced segregation in schools and were afraid to walk through the as they said in the day "white folks section", however I look at all people as equals and don't hold that idiotic grudge like progressives do in todays society. So yes Jimmy I aint 100% sure but I'm pretty much in the ballpark about this guy.

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, Jul 12, 2014 at 14:34 PM

Ok Funk. If you are narrowing that '100% correct in general' to just Obama, I will concede that point. I was deciphering it as '100% correct in general' regarding ALL things. That particular characteristic belongs to TOT in all his redneck conservative certitude regarding any and all things.

JimmyMack commented on Monday, Jul 14, 2014 at 15:46 PM

"Obama is now "WORST PRESIDENT EVER" - see my latest blog."

If you are going to present this as a fact then you must in fairness also state that this is the WORST CONGRESS EVER. The polls you put so much stock into show Congress' approval rating BELOW BHO's.
