Proving that the United States is indeed a Nation of Laws and not a Nation bound by the narrow judgemental absolutism of any theology, such as Islamic Fundamentalism, the very conservative State of Utah strikes down another barrier to the right to marry anyone a person loves. Regardless of gender.

These on-going State by State Court Decisions, fly directly into the faces of rabid social Conservatives whom many within their ranks see such decisions as certain signs of the forth-coming and now imminent APOCOLYPSE.

It was not that long ago, in my lifetime, that I can recall the lynching of a young Black male, Emmitt Till, by a group of hardline Southern Conservatives, for whistling at a white woman. No sirree by Gawd did these obviously sexually repressed conservative white boys were they gonna put up with this 'affront' to their manhood. Especially coming from a Black man!! That was their thinking then. Now, it is directed to the LGBT community.

Well, we eventually overcame these socially repressive cretins and even eradicated their SAME RACE ONLY marital laws that were on their books. And we are going to do the same thing no matter who these old-school Conservatives put in political office with their out of touch Conservative reasoning regarding who one marries.

Law is on our side and not repressive moral absolutism.

For outraged and confused Christians viewing this, please see the following crimes of the Church thru out history beginning When organized Religion got control of God's True Message given us by the Messiah, Gods purpose for his children became perverted thru by mankind.

The Crusades: which killed millions, the later burning of heretics in public in the hundreds if not thousands, the tortures of the Spanish Inquisition of hundreds of thousands, the Salem witch trials, the Catholic Church aiding and hiding Jew killing Nazis seeking to flee Germany after the war, and the Catholic Hierarchy protecting Pedophilic Priests through the 20th Century and by inflicting further injury upon the thousands of victims of these priests by denying any crime took place.

All these crimes against humanity persisted until they were countered by governmental reasoning, courts and LAWS that stopped them from further infliction upon mankind their humanly perverted concept of moral absolutism.

Ghandi knew what he was saying when he made the statement: "I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians."

There exists enough guilt to go around to all of these perpetrators and their on going supporters in today's world.

They would rather blame the 'victim' tho than rather take any responsibility for their criminal repression of human rights. They see this as what 'God wants them to do.'

Jimmy, the South was composed of Democrats when Emment Till was lynched. I don't understand why you would say he was lynched by Conservatives. Whose votes ensured the Voting Rights Act was passed in 1964? It sure wasn't the Democrats who hsd passed the Jim Crow laws to disenfranchise blacks from voting. I wont even get into your total disdain for the Catholic Church. The Protesants during the Reformation were no better.

I'm not sure you can compare lynching with attempts to redefine marriage. Further, we have laws because the majority believe that actions which are proscribed are "wrong." Those who advocate proscribed actions have ALWAYS tried to cause those actions to be sanctioned. Murderers would like murder to be okay - as would pedophiles, thieves, and rapists. Why can't these people "do whatever they want?" Many of them believe that what they do is "normal" - especially for THEM.

Society proscribes an action because it believes - as a whole - that the action is harmful to society. Shortsightedness should not be allowed to prevail here, nor should the "anything goes" mentality.

I fully support the rights of the individual states to make their laws as relates to the definition of marriage - by majority rule, as has been customary in this country. That way, if the laws or lifestyle in one state doesn't exactly fit, there are options.
