@PN: (Get ready for a possible tsunami from the 'morals' crowd citing this as another indication of America going to Hell.)
However, yes, there was a time when I think I would have been a participant at one of these 'clothes optional' beaches. This was even in the pre-sun screen days! I can only NOW imagine the possible burns I would have attained in sensitive places.
But, I was young then. Now, I've got hair growing in places I never had hair before, and hair not growing in places I have had all my life. Plus in the places it does grow, it is gray. Couple that with an out of shape aging body that could stand to lose 20-30 pounds and I am an instant carnival side show of a human that would no doubt frighten small children if that had the mis-fortune to view me in the buff.
Having essentially evolved into a dirty old man type mentally, I would, however, be content in visiting such a beach with say bathing trunks and a T-shirt covering some of the above mentioned body areas.
On the whole: I see nothing wrong with regulated nudity. Not really bothered by people getting naked.
At least we could see that they were not armed!
giving the size of tybee, i don't see a secluded place available. the only part that is is the north beach, but people live with in eye shot away. i see nothing wrong with it as long as it's in a place out of kids eye site.
I haven't been to Jekyll for awhile, but I recall during my walks around the circumference of the island back when that there were several suitable spots which afforded "privacy." As to spicing up one's love life, my reading on this topic reveals a common practice which involves frequent, public, and graphic "love life" on display. I suspect this area is not ready for that.
