Let me predicate this by I am glad that an American is not in the hands of the Taliban however; the immediate response upon his release has shed light that this cat may have not been a "hero" by any means of a definition.

If in fact this is true it further sheds light on the complete ineptness of this administration and its consistent attempt to hail anything as a foreign policy success.

Desertion during time of war is considered to be one of the most egregious acts of cowardice and is a kick in the gut to anyone in the military that has fought along side one another.

I very interested in how the administration spin doctors are going to sell this one. Granted, we should never leave our military in the hands of the enemy however; touting his release as another success is laughable at best. Furthermore it is complicit to have our president hail a deserter as a hero when lives were lost due to his acts of cowardice. I will also tell you something else; if you have never been in a combat situation depending on your left and right to have your six; YOU DON'T KNOW; PERIOD!!! If the allegations are convoluted and he was in fact a captive he should receive a hero's welcome. If he is a deserter he needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the UCMJ and made an example of how deserters are dealt with. Harsh? maybe, but I take nothing back.

Although I do not agree with most viewpoints that disparage America, in this case there are some mitigating circumstances.

I would like to think that This is a Father trying to do whatever he can to secure the release of his Son. However; there seems to be some gray areas in his posts that allude that his Son may have come by his disillusionment "honestly"...

At the risk of contradicting my original post; I do get being willing to do whatever it would take to get my Son home. With this said, I still do not concur with blaming the "system" for his Son's demise.

My point with my original post was pointed more at the administration whitewash trying to portray the circumstances surrounding his "capture" and labeling Bergdaghl as a hero needing rescued.

The reality is that his Family is not going to care less as long as he is home and I get that. I do still feel that a legitimate inquiry needs to be conducted and if misconduct is discovered; he still needs to be held accountable for his actions. Anything less than that dishonors those that stand and fight alongside each other.

GOP Has to make opportunity count
November 17, 2014
The GOP is at a crucial crossroads right now. America has made it pretty clear how much faith it had in the current status quo. Even though I have always leaned towards the GOP side of the house this does negate the expectations I personally have for them. The GOP ...

ISIL, The Next 10 Year War
November 04, 2014
As election day comes and goes our Commander and Chump is quietly drawing us deeper and deeper into the ISIL debacle. I had blogged previously about the ineffectiveness of the current effort. Utilizing air strikes has been completely ineffective to date. The reason this is a flawed response is the ...

"Greater Good"
October 28, 2014
“Greater Good”, a point or ideology that has been defined, perceived, twisted, etc. So what does this mean? Is it fair to even apply this concept as at the end of the day whatever the definition is construed; Man is still making that determination. So now here we are with ...

Crossroads
October 15, 2014
After pursing the “headlines” for the last couple of days it seems painfully apparent to me that our nation is at a perilous crossroad. We are mired in such discord that your average Dooms Day Prepper is doing jumping jacks saying “I told You So….” I try to do my ...

ISIS Endstate
October 08, 2014
Am I the only one that is concerned with the ineffective air campaign against ISIS? We seem to be going down the same road we did with Libya in regard to airstrikes that destabilize the region and disrupt the “enemy” but bring no semblance of peace and stability. Libya is ...
