VA Hospital Scandal:

Typical Response from the Republicans fire the staff and ask questions later. Blow the problem into a scandal and have FOX lie to the public that the only solution is Privatizing the VA so corporations can take more money away from our system of supporting our Veterans. Enough is Enough vote the Republicans out.

WE KNOW: Republicans blocked Veterans Benefits Bill in 2014 –Wouldn’t expand healthcare and education programs for veterans and build 27 new medical facilities that would’ve helped alleviate patient wait times, because they couldn't tack on an amendment sanctioning Iran.

WE KNOW: Republicans lied to the public to send them to an unnecessary war and got 4,000 of them killed, and brought thousands more back with chronic illnesses. WE KNOW: Republicans cut funding for the Veterans Administration Budget, already a $2 billion funding shortfall.

WE KNOW: Republican House Representatives refused to extend Unemployment Benefits for over 200,000 veterans.

WE KNOW: Republicans refuse to to raise the minimum wage.

WE KNOW: Republican Governors refuse to expand Medicaid in their states so that over 200,000 low-Income Veterans will not get the health care and many will die.

WE KNOW: Republicans are responsible and should be held accountable for not staffing the VA.

WE KNOW: The answer to the problem is fund the VA.

WE KNOW privatizing the VA is not an option as study after study shows that privatizing public services only hurts the people. Study 2006 : VA Hospitals vs. Private Sector Hospitals http://economistsview.typepad.com/.../va_hospitals_vs.html

ANGRY ENOUGH TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! Register to Vote – Then Vote Democrat

PETITION: Universal health care for Veterans http://petitions.moveon.org/.../universial-health-care...

PETITION: Tell Senator McConnell: Stop blocking funding for veterans’ healthcare https://www.credomobilize.com/.../tell-senator-mcconnell...

PETITION: 4-3-14 The Republicans talk a big game about "supporting the troops," but over 200,000 veterans have lost their unemployment benefits due to Congressional Republican inaction. The Senate has advanced an extension, with bipartisan support -- but Republican Speaker Boehner is refusing to even hold a vote. As of Memorial Day May 25th Republicans still refuse to vote.

Call (661)-BOEHNER and Demand a House Vote On Jobless Aid
Call Speaker Boehner at (661)-BOEHNER (661-263-4637) to reach one of his three Ohio offices. Tell him you want an up-or-down House vote on the unemployment insurance bill already passed by the Senate.

PN, last time I checked... Democrats did not present a unanimous vote on every issue you have listed; every one. It has been my personal experience that when there is a GOP administration things were ALWAYS better for the troops when I served; ALWAYS. I have already posted that nobama was at one time suggesting decimating the retiree health benefits because it was a volunteer Military. The pay raises were at least 1%-2% higher than a DEM administration. Your one dimensional point of view clouds clarity of the issues and does not present a balanced assessment. I will concede that the GOP does have some onus however letting the DEM's continue to get off scot free is convoluted at best. The DEMs have just as much responsibility to try and reach across the aisle and try to bring about a bipartisan coconscious. For every point you listed I promise there are just as many DEM transgressions. I have a novel idea; lets identify legislator's from both parties that are not fulfilling the promise of their office and get rid of all of the INDIVIDUALS responsible...

PN, this is just another typical unbalanced opinion piece by you again. You blame Republicans in Congress for not doing there jobs which is correct; however you don't address any wrong doings by Democrats who was totally in charge from 2009-2010 and still in charge of the Executive branch and half of congress from 2011-2014. Did you even know that the Bush administration briefed the Obama administration about these problems and now they have gotten worse because the lack of a True leader in the Whitehouse. Did you know that congress already had an alternate plan for vets to go see a private doctor instead of them waiting 115 days or more for service. Did you know va reps were cooking the books to ensure they would get there bonuses while my fellow vets weren't being taken care of properly. I agree with HMJC that your "one dimensional point of view clouds clarity of the issues and does not present a balanced assessment"

Megan Kelly presents to you what the Obama administration was briefed on and the WH rep who has acknowledged that it was known.

Veterans know who has their back, and who stabs them in the back. The latest problems which have surfaced in the VA are just another indication of what happens during a Democrat administration. President Obama just "accepted" VA Director Shinseki's resignation. It was long overdue. But this only proves that they haven't been able to run their typical playbook, which is:

*BLAME BUSH - they tried but didn't work. Documents revealed that the Obama Transition Team in 2009 was alerted to this problem, which Senator and Candidate Obama had already acknowledged prior to his election.

*BLAME REPUBLICANS - they tried, but bipartisan blowback showed nobody was buying it. I knew the administration would have to cave when I saw members of the Democratic Party Black Caucus demanding that Obama DO SOMETHING about the problem.

*MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM - with 40 dead and the "investigation" showing that the VA problems exist *EVERYWHERE*, that dog wouldn't hunt either. But they tried.

*KICK THE PROBLEM DOWN THE ROAD - We The People demanded action NOW - so Obama was boxed in. Firing Shinseki was a small and symbolic step, but we must watch the Dems carefully to see how they "handle" this problem. If they are perceived as "foot-dragging," they will REALLY get burned at the ballot box in November.

This Presidency is spiraling downward even more quickly than I had previously imagined. The approval ratings were at rock bottom to begin with - then the last 30 days have been disastrous on just about every domestic front. Foreign policy is going to hell as well.

No amount of obfuscation or changing the subject will save the Democrats now. Jay Carney's resignation earlier today only demonstrates that the Obama administration will have to change the way they are doing business or face pressure from ALL sides.

That, too, is long overdue.

Sebekm- What are you talking about. The VA has been in a mess for years.

sebekm commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 14:38 PM

That's my point. But today's problems have to be dealt with by a DEMOCRAT ADMINSTRATION - much as they try to blame everybody else for the problem.

sebekm commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 14:39 PM

Angry about how this DEMOCRAT administration has blundered their way through the past five years?

VOTE REPUBLICAN

PoliticsNation commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 14:48 PM

Sebekm-The Republicans will never win the big house (White house) and they know it. Republicans are outdated and stale. Once the old racist heads die off-the world will be a better place. Have a great weekend.

sebekm commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 14:53 PM

They will "never" win the White House? You must be either very young or very naïve (or both). What goes around comes around. The Obama administration is self-destructing before our very eyes, and "racism" has very little to do with it. INCOMPETENCE and the Democratic Party agenda has EVERYTHING to do with it.

I assume you are referring to me as one of those "old racists" who ought to "die off." Well - I plan to be around for quite awhile, and if you consider me a racist then it just shows you are just another one who has no other answer but to play the race card. That makes you just as much of a racist as those you decry.

You have a great weekend as well.

sebekm commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 14:56 PM

I guess Montel Williams is one of those "old racists" as well:

PoliticsNation commented on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 15:43 PM

Montel doesn't have the power to be racist.

If it doesn't apply let it fly. If the shoe fits wear it....
