Racism vs. Ignorance
Racism can be defined or interpreted many different ways. I offer the core definition for this discussion.

1.animosity toward other races: prejudice or animosity against people who belong to other races,
2.belief in racial superiority: the belief that people of different races have different qualities and abilities, and that some races are inherently superior or inferior.
Perceived racism vs. actual racism continues to be a topic that has become part of our daily lives regardless of ethnicity. It also seems to be the go to catch all if a negative situation or decision is not in ones favor. Unfortunately when allegations of racism are raised the status quo is to be afraid and to do anything no matter how absurd in some cases to make the situation "go away"
Racism exists and will continue to be at the forefront because as a society we are afraid of offending or disagreeing with race based allegations. As usual we seem to find a racist incident in some of the silliest instances. I offer just a few:
I again re-iterate that I acknowledge that racism continues to be perpetuated by ALL races and ethnicities. The reality is that as long as we try to make every incident a race issue there is no true clarity. I have again and again conveyed that until we have an objective conversation about dealing with the incident as opposed to a blanket comparison; no race will truly advance.
It is also time to stop degrading one for being proud of their heritage. This once again should be afforded to all races. With this said, this does not include the KKK, the Black Panthers, and any other organization that is founded in hatred and ignorance.
There in lies my point; don't confuse racism with ignorance because at the end of the day that is truly the root of racism. The concept of judging one based on skin color and ethnicity is an individual character fault that should be addressed with the individual contrary to blaming a whole demographic for ones ignorance and intolerance.
I am interested to see how many of my fellow bloggers interpret this blog as racist. I am only trying to be true to my own ideology; Call a duck a duck and analyze the situation based on that persons actions good or bad. Not what the status quo is or being politically correct.
