A new standard has been set for funeral swagger. Socialite Mickey Easterling passed away at 83 last week, but that didn’t stop her from attending her wake as she would have attended any other party on her roster: with a glass of champagne in one hand and a cigarette in the other.

Amazing stuff PN! Ms. Easterling certainly was an eccentric.

As for myself, I am opting for an open casket graveside service when it comes time to cross over to the other side.

It's amazing stuff, indeed. But I wonder about a society and a culture which can ask this question:

"Do you ever fantasize about your own funeral?"

If we're "fantasizing" about our own funerals, something's off kilter....

Hi Sebe. I ain't fantasizing about my funeral. The lawyer just advised me it was part of my Will that I had the option to address. Ms. Easterling's meanderings are a result I believe of falling in the same rabbit hole that Alice fell in.

"We all die, it's just a question of when." Paul Neuman in Hombre.

Jimmy: I wasn't talking about you - when one clicks the link in the basic blog, a sentence in the write-up is the one I quoted.
