@PN. I wrote here on this blog site a while back regarding the SPLC and how they worked with Law Enforcement, locally and on a National Level with the FBI and Homeland Security.
Now get this!!! I literally got BLASTED by some Right Wingers and a prominent 'Center-Right- contributer essentially saying I had it backwards and the SPLC WAS IN THE BUSINESS OF HATE!! I am not making this up.
Check out my blogs on my profile page. The proof is there. So, my friend, get ready for some right wingers with some pointed verbs coming your way.
Great Blog by the way!
The SPLC has stated they have no responsibility for researching left-wing hate groups - the exact quote is that they "aren't set up for that." So any group that makes a living focusing on only one side of the political spectrum has no credibility as far as I am concerned. And yes - you have it right, Jimmy - I believe that the SPLC is in itself a "hate group." At the very least, it's so-called "research" is biased and distorted. Read about both here:
and especially here:
When your self-stated charter is to only "research," "investigate" and "expose" your political adversaries, your results are meaningless.
@Sebe. The OVERWHELMING NUMBERS ALONE of documented Right Wing CONSERVATIVE HATE GROUPS swamped the pittance of left wing hate groups that was historically swamped and lost in the whirlpool of rogue waves and bottom dives from relentless (and justified) pursuit and jailing of its participants in the '60's and '70's by J. Edgar Hoover. Yes there are small cells of Left Hate Groups, but the overall INTERNAL threat to America and our Constitution comes from many well armed self marginalized white boys and girls. Almost too numerous to count, thus demanding the SPLC's paramount purpose in exposing them to the FBI and Homeland Security
Remember Timothy McVeigh? Home grown terrorist.
The Social and War Upheaval in the 60's and 70's was a noble cause that sometimes lacked guidance in accomplishing its aims. There were mistakes. On the other hand the formation of literally thousands of Right Wing Hate Groups is a threat to all law abiding citizens. Not just the Government War Mongers of needless Wars and the Military Industrial Complex.
I would submit that your monetary soul is tied to that 60-70 war like era.
I refused to participate in it. What did you do?
That is such a bad list for GA to be on.
This world of ours... must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect.
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Ike knew a thing or two about hate.
I will say this Shan: That the growing disparity between the haves and the have nots is widening. A powder keg is in the making.
"Seb-that means you are no longer supporting FOX news?"
PN - I am beginning to think you don't read my posts. Is that possible? If so, that's fine but then it makes you look at the very least *uninformed* when you make a statement like the one I quoted above. To reiterate what I've said many times before:
I HAVE NEVER *SUPPORTED* FOX NEWS. I have posted numerous times on this here blog site a warning for people - especially Jimmy - NOT to watch Fox News because "it will make you go blind and rot your brain." I did say that I occasionally watch one "news" program on the channel - the 6 p.m. M-F "Special Report" hosted by Bret Baier. But I also said to beware of the "analysis" on even that program due to FNC's "slant."
So there you go again. I repeat: I HAVE *NEVER* SUPPORTED FOX NEWS.
Jimmy: Once again you refuse to see the only point I am making:
When an organization claims to be in business to "identify hate groups," AND DOESN'T EVEN ADMIT THE EXISTENCE OF HATE GROUPS OTHER THAN THOSE ON THE "RIGHT WING" OF THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM, as far as I am concerned that outfit is really in business to bash their political opposition - plain and simple. It has zero credibility in my book.
Further, I have examined their list. Many groups that are on there are in business solely to promote family and religion, and are obviously on their "hate list" because this is inconsistent with the Democratic Party agenda, which also happens to coincide with the political persuasion of the people who run the SPLC.
Do me and yourself a favor and read this article. While not specifically addressing "hate groups" and the SPLC, it exemplifies what I am talking about:
