Why Republicans Use Scare Tactics-and Bullying!

From the time Barack Obama stood on the steps of the Capitol and took the oath of office, Republicans made destroying him politically their number one priority. In doing so, facts were optional (death panels and socialism, anyone?). Republicans including the conservatives on this site are hell bent on making all kinds of outlandish threats and predictions, and feel they don't have to be correct. They pull an article form right wing extremist news outlets and run with it no matter how far or outlandish it is or truthful. If you look through the recent blogs posted by the conservatives on this site- most of their post are attacks on the President of the United States working poor and Women. You will find that most of my post are answers to their scare tactics. The conservatives offer no solutions just attacks!

The right has controlled the debate for far too long with a narrative based on fantasy and lies. Their emotional appeals, dripping with fear-mongering buzz words, manage to get large portions of citizens to vote against their own best interest. Example Union workers in Tennessee vote against their own best interest (form a union)because of bullying from Republicans http://www.ibtimes.com/uaw-vote-fails-tennessee-volkswagen-plant-critics-blame-sen-bob-corkers-illegal-actions-1555792

They're republicans and the only way they know to win an election and to govern is by fear and ignorance.

Conservatives: people who can't deal with facts.

Conservatives pundits: people who make their living in the attempt to obscure the facts.

Conservative leaders: people who try to organize the suppression of the facts.

Conservative legislators: people who vote only for whatever will enrich or empower them and others of their class.

Conservative apologists: people who prefer lies to the truth.

There is something about truth, it wins every time. This President, perhaps more than any ever, has been lied on, despised, vilified, and falsely accused in the first two years of his presidency, than others have endured in two terms. And, despite his faith being questioned, he has displayed more Christian character than those with "evangelical" credentials. He has not reviled in fiery rhetorical flourishes, but responded with undeniable dignity to things way beneath the dignity of his office. He has shown us a sense of humor, yet possesses the ability to laugh at himself in the butt of jokes. He has shown us previously his steeliness in the face of adversity, in dealing with the Somali pirates. The American public were convinced it was mere luck, tarnished by partisan politics & corporate influences & ads. He has been weighed in the balances and finally been deemed found worthy of the title Commander-in-Chief with his daring decision to take out Bin Laden in an attack with the odds stacked against him.

I believe history will judge President Obama the kindest, because there is still an element of our population that will still remain to have their vision obscured with the thick scales of racism, and despite his many successes, with never see him with righteous eyes.

PN: When was the last time you offered any "solutions?" Parroting and applauding the Obama administration's agenda and the President himself are not "solutions." Personally, I consider modification or repeal of most of this President's domestic agenda as a "solution" to what ails this country right now. And I'll point out that - based on the polls - more than two-thirds of this country agrees with me. And since only about one-third are supposedly "conservatives," that means that there are an ever-increasing number of independents and even Democrats who agree.

Also - one of our basic rights and freedoms is to criticize our government when we feel that they are wrong. The Democrats did this PLENTY of times from 2000 to 2008, and they still repeat their "attacks" on Dubya (a.k.a. "The Boy King") even today. Now conservatives are availing themselves of the same right and freedom. It is typical of the hypocritical left to deny others the same rights and freedoms that they avail themselves so often when it suits THEIR purposes. It is in line with their main principle that tolerance only applies when it favors a liberal/left issue. Anything else is "intolerant" or an "attack."

Further, you constantly quote what is acknowledged by just about everyone (even the "mainstream" media) as THE most "extremist" "news" outlet on the left - MSNBC - as your source for "truth." The number of resignations, firings, and sanctions of MSNBC hosts and their staff in recent months and years demonstrates that MSNBC is nothing but a mouthpiece for the Obama administration, which distorts and attacks in the most radical and foulest means possible anyone and anything that criticizes this president or his agenda. Nobody but their dwindling fans believes that what MSNBC is selling is "truth."

sebekm commented on Wednesday, Feb 19, 2014 at 11:25 AM

Finally - the excerpts I publish are ordinarily from "mainstream" media outlets such as USTODAY.com, CNN.com, etc. But as the "vast majority" of the "mainstream media" are in the Obama administration's pocket, who do you expect will publish any adverse TRUTH or critical information about what this government is doing that it shouldn't be? So I quote the most widely-read and established (i.e., "respected") news outlets and web sites that deal in political news. These include The Hill, The Weekly Standard, Politico, etc. These are not "right wing extremist" news outlets. If they are "right wing extremist," then NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN are "left wing extremist." And obviously, you'll never see the lefty "news" and info sites publishing any critical "truths" - they're all drinking the Kool Aid.

This country was founded on the principle that governments are empowered by the people to do the WILL of the people. This means that our government is supposed to obtain the CONSENT of the people to enact their agenda. This administration and this president have decided they know best and don't really care what the will of the majority of the people is. Mr. Obama demonstrates this every day with his executive fiats via "phone and pen." That's not government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people. That's tyranny, and the tradition of this country is that we won't put up with tyrants.

Good afternoon Seb. There is much misinformation about President Obama’s use of executive orders.Like many criticisms of many presidents, policy disagreements stemming from presidential actions do not automatically make those actions illegal. Executive orders are no different. They are not an abuse of power, but a necessary presidential power critical to the function of government. The current POTUS has been quite modest in using this action. I have attached a link for your review-the review highlights the use of executive orders by each President.

Seb- please name one thing the Republicans have done for America over the past 10years. I'm not talking about running to the closet throwing a plan together in response to a plan the Democrats have introduced...Please name one thing they have done on behalf of the people..

Hi PN. As you note in your blog about guns above, I must say in words soaked in sarcasm, that Republicans have lent their influence to expand personal expression in the form of helping Americans get guns to kill people. Making it easy to take a life or lives makes for one hell of an expression. A very violent one.

That is the only one I can come up with.

@PN. 'as you note in your blog about guns above..." I am referring to your Blog about "Guns in the Church and Schools" Blog above this one.

PN: I noted the fact that other presidents have used executive orders in greater numbers than Mr. Obama. The difference with Obama is that he is using them to SPITE his opposition and because he is unwilling to forge compromises to use the legislative process. The executive orders by other presidents were not to CHANGE LAWS THAT WERE ALREADY IN EXISTENCE. Mr. Obama's executive orders - by and large - have included these modifications - which I and actual legal authorities believe IS ILLEGAL. To prove it, somebody has to have the guts to take Mr. Obama and the executive branch to court. I doubt that anybody will - partially because the right wants to limit the fight to the election, and because the administration would UNDOUBTEDLY delay any legal proceedings until AFTER Obama was out of office. Either way it would be a loser. But that doesn't make things any more LEGAL.
