The right wing regrets and drama among the party. Hot off the press.
1. Beware of the Glenn Beck link in the basic blog post. I contains a trojan or other code which says your computer is infected and "Microsoft Security" needs to run to fix it. Don't click on the accompanying link (I didn't). Just shut down/restart your computer if you can't close the window.
2. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a GOP "implosion." They don't have a viable candidate to head the 2016 presidential ticket, but just about everything else is going their way in nearly all the 2014 races that really count.
3. Beck's relevancy among Republicans is even less than Limburger. He's just another fringe wacko - the left has plenty of those as well and it hasn't caused their "implosion."
4. I was reminded on Sunday why I don't watch any of the FNC "commentary/analysis" programming. I thought O'Reilly's attack on Obama was inappropriate as well as improper. I understand the rationale - the right FINALLY gets Obama in a one-on-one to ask him "hard questions" rather than the softballs he usually gets from the major networks/other cable news outlets. But the way O'Reilly went after Obama made me personally uncomfortable, so I shut it off after a few minutes. I think on Super Bowl Sunday, we ought to be able to leave politics aside and just enjoy the festivities. I don't think FNC did themselves much good with most of the country - even though the ratings for the interview were supposedly very good.
Hi Sebe: Are you referring to the link in the body of my Blog? I did not get any red flags on the site on my PC. I certainly do not wish to aid and abet the spreading any virus. I did not get any of the warning or offers to fix that you mention.
Are you certain of your info?
Just went to site and again did not get any redflag "Microsoft Security" warnings. I don't understand.
What I am saying is that the FAIR AND BALANCED network, Fox, is not what it appears to be. And Beck is the Proof of that by his admission of REGRET involving the harm he did to this country when a Voice of Fox. Fox is as slanted and biased as they come. Even more so than those who refer to CNN, MSNBC, NBC, and all the others as the 'lame-stream media.' Fox represents a vitriol heretofore unseen in its condemnatory 'commentary.'
I got it twice - today and the other day. I have MacAfee SecurityCenter as well as Windows Defender and a firewall running, which alert me to actual viral/malicious software activity. Neither of those alert when I run the Beck link, which tells me that the problem is coming from the linked page itself and is not "viral" or "malicious" per se. I just get a pop-up window which locks up my screen, and in my case only a system shutdown/restart solves the problem.
Microsoft calls it "rogue security software" - and here's the MS page that discusses it and has suggestions on what to do:
FNC is as "fair and balanced" as any of the others, and is actually the COUNTER-BALANCE to the lefty spin coming out of NBC/MSNBC, CNN, and the "major" lamestream media. As I've said numerous times before, you just have to understand the motivation behind what "news" you're getting, and then sift from there. I know of NO news media that plays it totally down the middle, although I saw a recent poll which said most of the American people believed that NPR did that the best. But on that I disagree. They tilt based on what they cover, how they interview, WHO they interview, and where they place the emphasis in their coverage - JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.
@Sebe. So what you are saying is by virtue of Fox's news rightwing 'slanting' is that two wrongs may just add up to a right, and the REAL TRUTH (News) lies somewhere in between them and the other networks? Fox also is by that measure 'justified' in presenting their bias version of the news? And we are therefore left to our own devices to discern what is the Truth?
ATTENTION TO THOSE READING THIS: You have nothing to fear by opening the link to the Glenn Beck "confession" in my Blog above. As always, with any link, proceed with customary caution regarding ANY pop up. There is absolutely NO DANGER in viewing the link in my Blog. The link leads to a former talking head(Glenn Beck) on Fox News, THE FAIR AND BALANCED ONES, and the harm he feels he inflicted upon the nation when he was in their employ voicing Fox's prejudiced agenda.
"So what you are saying is by virtue of Fox's news rightwing 'slanting' is that two wrongs may just add up to a right, and the REAL TRUTH (News) lies somewhere in between them and the other networks."
Not two wrongs adding up to a right, but only that you need to consider the slant when you are sifting through and digesting the news. In other words - DON'T TRUST ANY "NEWS ORGANIZATION" TO BE GIVING YOU THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. That requirement only exists in a courtroom, and even there they sift, examine, probe and explore before they accept something as FACT. The news organizations have their own agendas, which generally are to shape public opinion in ways that serve their sponsors and their "constituencies." It's just a simple case of caveat emptor.
I wasn't trying to discourage anybody from opening the link. I was just relating my personal experiences, which were repeated just prior to my posting this. For some reason, the link apparently doesn't like me.
Jimmy, I couldn’t access the link so I went to YouTube and watched the interview in its entirety from the Kelly File. It’s a good thing when people acknowledge when they make mistakes; however his mistakes aren’t the whole networks problem. As for the O’Reilly interview, I agree that O’Reilly should restrain himself to the utmost; however these were questions that needed to be answered. You have to be aggressive with Obama or he will filibuster the entire interview. Jimmy as far as the misinformation from O’Reilly and Fox News. What about Obama’s answer that there wasn’t a smidgeon of corruption in the I.R.S Scandal. If there wasn’t a smidgeon of misinformation, why did Lois Lerner plead the fifth and then retired? Entire Beck interview below for your use. And what do you think about Governor Cuomo? A letter Beck sent Cuomo initiated all of this.
Hi Funk. Regarding Obama, IRS(scandal?), If and that is a big If, BHO put was doling out any misinformation, then it will be labeled as such when and (another IF coming) IF it ever goes to a hearing of some sort.
As far as Cuomo goes, In his position as a Governor, he went a little over the top in my opinion. However, many of us on the left view hard line conservatism just as he laid he out: Conservatives are anti-woman, anti-gay, and pro-guns for anybody that wants one. Particularly assault rifles.
I don't have a problem with Beck writing a letter, signing his name at the bottom, and calling Cuomo out on this at all.
