New general for 3rd ID

Brig. Gen James R. Blackburn Jr. has been assigned to become deputy commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, coming to Fort Stewart from the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan where he is a deputy commander.
The 3rd Division's deputy commanding general for maneuver, Brig. Gen. John H. Hort, will be moving into the post of deputy chief of staff, operations, for the U.S. Army Europe.
No date has been set for the officers to take up their new jobs.
