When the weapons hunters failed to find stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, so began one of the greatest slanders on a president in history: “Bush lied, people died.”
Never mind that, in building the case for war in Iraq, President George W. Bush relied on the unanimous opinion of all 16 U.S. intelligence agencies.
Never mind that the bipartisan Robb-Silberman commission examined the intelligence on which Bush relied, and unanimously found that "the Intelligence Community did not make or change any analytic judgments in response to political pressure. … We conclude that it was the paucity of intelligence and poor analytical tradecraft, rather than political pressure, that produced the inaccurate pre-war intelligence assessments."
Never mind that Bush retained the same CIA director, George Tenet, who served under Bill Clinton. Tenet gave Bush the same intelligence assessment: that Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq, possessed WMD is a “slam dunk.” Indeed, according to The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, Bush was initially skeptical of the intelligence that reached that conclusion. When, on December 21, 2002, Tenet laid out the intelligence purportedly showing the existence of WMD stockpiles, Bush said, “This is the best we’ve got?”
Never mind that former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, then a New York senator, was particularly adamant about the threat posed by Saddam: "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical- and biological-weapons stock, his missile-delivery capability and his nuclear program. … If left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”
Finally, never mind about then-President Bill Clinton’s Persian Gulf expert on the National Security Council, Kenneth Pollack. While he opposed the war’s timing, Pollack said “no one doubted” Saddam’s stockpiles of WMD: "The intelligence community convinced me and the rest of the Clinton Administration that Saddam had reconstituted his WMD programs following the withdrawal of the U.N. inspectors, in 1998, and was only a matter of years away from having a nuclear weapon. ... Other nations' intelligence services were similarly aligned with U.S. views. ... Germany ... Israel, Russia, Britain, China and even France held positions similar to that of the United States. ... In sum, no one doubted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction."
“Bush lied, people died” -- or some version of it -- was uttered at the highest levels in the opposition party. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., called W. a “loser” and a “liar.” He later apologized -- for the “loser” part. Liar stands. The so-called Lion of the Senate, Ted Kennedy, bellowed, “Before the war, week after week after week after week, we were told lie after lie after lie after lie.”
If Bush is a “liar,” having relied in good faith on the unanimous opinion of the U.S. intelligence agencies, what do you call President Barack Obama? In building the case for Obamacare, Obama promised: “No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people:If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”
Did Obama “lie”?
Obama’s healthcare team, according to NBC News, knew that more than half of the people who buy their plans on the individual market would lose their plan: “Millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years.”
NBC News’ sources estimated that 50 to 80 percent of Americans who buy individual insurance will find their policies cancelled, because those existing policies don’t meet Obamacare standards. And for many of those -- now forced to buy new policies -- the price tag will give them “sticker shock.”
The Affordable Care Act stated that an insurance policy in effect before March 23, 2010, was to be grandfathered in -- provided insurance companies have made no “significant change“ to the plan. But if the plan, say, had a change to the deductible, co-pay or benefits, the plan was no longer eligible to be grandfathered, and the policyholder would have to purchase a new plan.
Obamacare’s July 2010 regulations included an estimate that “40 to 67 percent” of customers wouldn’t be able to keep their policy because of normal annual turnover in the individual insurance market. And, because many policies will have been changed since the March 23, 2010, date, “the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range.” Yet Obama continued to tell Americans that no one would lose their plan or doctor, a promise without which Obamacare would never have passed.
For his part, Obama now says: “What we said was, you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed.” A lie is an untruth told with intent to deceive.
Bush didn’t “lie.”

Happy New Year to all my fellow bloggers, I’ve been MIA and felt compelled to re-post a blog from November 8, 2013. While I was away TOT posted a blog called “Cheney’s Toy” on January 9th and gacpl posted a blog called” Four Americans Died, Obama Lied” I was unavailable to comment at the time because of a personal family tragedy. A couple of fellow bloggers and Obama advocates lent their opinions to these blogs by TOT and gacpl which I feel are uninformed at the least, because I was cautiously waiting for them to comment on my original blog back in November. I even posted on my last entry “PN and Jimmy, WRU?” Here is the original post and after reading it, remember that GWB is at the least a man of honor and integrity. He also went to Congress and received 75% approval to go to Iraq and use force. Ask yourselves did Obama do the same, because he is on record for saying that he would. And it has just been released that Obama and Hillary opposed the war for political reasons. I want a leader that supports the rules on the books and the US Constitution. I don’t care what party, color, sex, or religion they may be.

1.Obviously, the loss of human life cannot be compared to a failed roll-out of Obamacare.

2.You want to compare the costs of the Iraq War and Obamacare? Not sure that chart fits on one page.

3.When thinking about the rollout of Obamacare, one needs to remember that the first flight of the Wright brothers lasted for only a short time and flew a distance of about a football field. And, most held to the idea that if man was intended to fly, God would have given him wings. Well, He did. Put that in your pipe and smoke on it for a while.

Jimmy, I appreciate your response, which I deem as genuine, thoughtful and respectful. While I agree that losing lives I wars are tragedy’s, however most veterans I know realize and accept this as a part of service just like police officers and firefighters accept the risk of their service too. You seem to disregard all the measures GWB took before the war and the fact that Bill, Hillary and a host of Democrats believed in the same intelligence reports that GWB did. It’s perfectly ok to oppose a war IMHO; however how can people just lie and vilify an honest man just because you disagree with him politically. GWB is a true leader and went to IRAQ by rule of law supported by Congress and the Constitution. I still don’t understand why you feel that BHO was misinformed when it’s perfectly clear to me that he intentionally mislead Americans to get his progressive legislation passed regardless of the truth or rule of law. When a bill is passed into law by Congress it goes to the floor for a vote to be voted into law Obamacare initial passed in November 2009 in the House and December 2009 in the Senate where 60 votes were required and it did ; however Ted Kennedy died shortly thereafter and Scott Brown a Republican won Kennedy’s Senate seat which was the 41st vote against passage of the bill and what did Obama, Reid and Pelosi do they bypassed the final step in the Senate and DEEMED and passed the Senate bill in the House and then the House voted and passed it around 3/21/13 and Obama signed it into law on 3/23/13 even though most public polls opposed the bill around 55-60%. There were numerous backdoor deals a, twisting arms and lying to get this monstrosity passed. This from a man who said he would reach across party lines, negotiations would be on C-Span, no back door deals, transparency, etc, etc, etc. I have personally kept my eye on this man especially since he looks like me and had the opportunity to become one of the Greatest Presidents of All times, but he would have to do or at least attempt to do what he said he would/conservative promises but he didn’t. Last week I was out making some visits to co-workers and this particular young lady was a black single mother 24 years old with 1 child. The visit was informal I couldn’t help myself to ask “Are you a yes we can advocate” I thought I had started some trouble and was surprised that this young lady had come to the conclusion that BHO is just another slick politician and she was very upset that her insurance premiums are $290 a month for her personal coverage. She said she couldn’t afford it for her child and was happy that her baby’s daddy was able to cover the child. And what about the 5 Million plans that were cancelled because of the lies and what is the total amount of people affected by these cancellations?

PN, the Obamacare roll out has played out almost exactly like the experts who actually read the monstrosity said it would..

My post by "Sage of South Central" clearly focuses on how a true leader went about leading our troops into a war and exhausting all rational means before doing so because he actually cares and didn't lie. On the other hand there is irrefutable evidence that Obama sat back, twisted arms, back door deals and lied to pass this radical agenda in the name of progressivism, with no worries about the unintended consequences.

There is no comparison with individuals in a free market society using their god given talents, resources and ingenuity to build a plane to fly with the government taking over a healthcare system that covered over 85% of America and allowed people to keep their doctor and to keep their healthcare plans and completely gutting and destroying these Americans plans because you, Obama. Plosives and Reid believe they are junk plans and you what's better for us than we do.

Actually y'all say you believe in freedom but your actions bare the truth!

Well put Funkentelecky, but it seems like no one cares if Obama lies as long as they continue to get free stuff from the rest of the people in America who pay taxes. Obama should be put on trial for fraud. He lies and he is an incompetant president. So what has happened to the other two branches of government who are suppose to use there power to keep checks and balances when this happens? They bury their heads in the sand. I am embarrassed by the performance of our own two senators who basicly have not done anything to rectify this situation and have actually contributed to the lie by not acknowledging what is evident.

the full effect of employees will be a big wake up call as a lot of businesses are slowly going to a part time work force. looking thru the help wanted adds i've seen the following. banks hiring 20 hr tellers, pizza places hiring only part time drivers. and while people think it's a bad job, it's still one of the highest paying jobs in the food industry, also they are not 16 year old like it use to be. all are over 18 with most having familys to provide for. there was a descution about papa johns being able to afford health insurance for their drivers. so to make sure they can, they dropped the starting on the road wage by $1.63 per hour. and these are the people obama care is suppose to help.

"but it seems like no one cares if Obama lies as long as they continue to get free stuff from the rest of the people in America who pay taxes

That pretty much sums up our current mentality.

GWB didn't lie and people did die; however BHO lied and IMHO more people will suffer and die from ACA, A.K.A. Obamacare than Iraq and Afghanistan within the same time period.
