Interesting. But I wonder what the numbers would show if ALL "income" of all members of Congress were transparent and declared. I suspect that money they get from bribes, kick-backs, illegal campaign contributions, PAC funds steered to accounts they control, and interest income from their off-shore bank accounts are NOT included in the tally. If all of those funds were included, every one of them might be a "millionaire."
I imagine that there are all kinds of reports "out there" in cyberspace. It's just a matter of which ones can you believe. Every politician nowadays seems to have a political machine which "digs up dirt" on their opponents and "informs the public" what scumbags those opponents truly are. The only problem is that there are a lot of exaggerations and just plain made up stuff out there and it's hard to know what to believe.
I believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely. It has done so throughout history and it is doing so today. But as to the specifics and the truth about the financial status of those who are absolutely corrupted - your guess is as good as mine.
I too believe that,
ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS,
And the Democratic and Republican two party lock on the
PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOT
Is a perfect example of what corruption achieves,
The two sides do nothing but refuse to agree.
Our Federal Government is dysfunctional.
PRIMARY ELECTIONS SHOULD BE OPEN TO ANY AND ALL ORGANIZED POLITICAL PARTIES
No matter what the persuasion.
As a Liberal Democrat, and just speaking for myself, I would not oppose other political parties being on the ballot. I think it would be good for the public and help shape policies and actions by our government. I kinda like Liberterianism from what little I know about it. I am for anything that could break the gridlock we now have in government.
I should clarify that statement above regarding "I am for anything that could break the gridlock we now have in government." That statement is not true. I am not in favor of Conservative Republicans controlling both houses and the oval office. That is my worst nightmare.
Jimmy: Whinny - Snort - Neerggghhhhhfffff - Squeal - Nicker. Welcome to 2016 if something happens to derail HRC's "inevitability"(think Benghazi and the latest Senate report revelations/further investigation).
Even the not so well informed may eventually tire of electing
SELF SERVING COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS
who only better themselves while the taxpayers continue to struggle under ever increasing taxes and regulatory fees imposed for nothing but to create revenue to support government employees.
