...just like these:
It well may have been "overcome by events," whatever that means, please explain.
I posted this as Arts and Entertainment because that is what it is and as to that aspect of the issue I'd rate it as a first class piece of production.
Now as to the politics of the message, I tend to agree, almost entirely.
I'm interested in all points of view.
Well, I think it is a great post and I too agree with the politics of it. We are still losing young men and women to the Bush Wars. So many lives lost and IRAQ is no better off for it. Al Quaida is back in charge of Fallugia (sic) and terror is rampant in the streets. All done by Cheney's toy. We have brought added instability to an already dangerous and unstable area of the world.
"Overcome by events" = Bush and Cheney have been out of office for 5-plus years, so it's a little late to be blaming them for anything in today's grand scheme of things, isn't it? And hasn't Mr. Obama had all that time to pile up HIS OWN death toll? According to justforeignpolicy.org:
"575 US troops died in Afghanistan during the Bush presidency....Today (as of Dec 13, 2013), over 1500 US troops have died in Afghanistan since President Obama took office."
Further - take a look at what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. Al Qaeda is NO LONGER on the run, and now they control MORE territory than ever in the Middle East:
And also - let's not forget Mr. Obama's "angels of death" drone strikes, which continue to kill both the "guilty" and the "innocent" in our "war on terror":
So OBE is the phrase of the day as it relates to the BLAME BUSH/CHENEY CAMPAIGN.
I personally think that doing away with the military draft was what enabled our elected President and Congress to direct our military to invade other nations at will.
Our military misadventures brought on the current situation.
Obama is just as guilty as Bush in my opinion.
Obama is trying to finish what Bush started. It is as Colin Powell told W. before the no WMD's wars: "Just remember Mr. President, if you break it you own it;" referring to IRAQ and Afghanistan. Cost to America was something W. could not come to terms with. How could a born into privilege rich boy born with a silver spoon so far up his throat you couldn't get it out with a crowbar relate to accumulating massive debt in terms of money and loss of human life?
Answer: he couldn't.
