Congratulations to the Liberty County Board of Education on becoming a Georgia Quality School Board. The Board of Education will be honored at the 2014 Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA)/Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on December 6, 2013. Lily Baker, Chairman of the Liberty County Board of Education and other members of the Board will accept the award on behalf of the Board or Education and Superintendent.

To be named a Quality Board, a local Board of Education must complete a series of tasks, which include undergoing a self-assessment, adopt a system strategic plan, training, and maintaining accreditation. The Board must also develop an action plan to address opportunities for improvement. To remain in compliance, boards must re-certify and meet the criteria every year through a self-nominating process.

"I am proud of the accomplishment of our Board of Education,” said Dr. Valya Lee, Liberty County Superintendent of Schools.“The Board Members have worked hard as a team to reach this goal.” For more information, contact John Lyles at jlyles@liberty.k12.ga.us,
