The stress of family/friend rifts can take a toll not only on you, but the rest of your friends/family as well. Life is fleeting, and you never know when you are going to lose someone. Look at the big picture. Forgive and mend your relationships with family/friends You don't want to be left with regrets once they are gone.

Good advice. Especially with the holiday season coming up, this message is especially important. I am reminded of the old man in "Home Alone" whose touching side-story gave a slapstick comedy a feel-good ending. There are a lot of lonely people who don't have to be. Mending those fences can save or prolong a life.
