I bet you the POLITICIANS in power now, will find a way to aviod us having to vote, like say a HUGE catastrophy, followed by martial law.

Or perhaps cutting off foodstamps followed by riots and martial law and mass arrests of people who might be dangerous for them.

After all I read some reports stating food stamps are going to be cut back some starting November 5!

Icy: Okay - I'll break my lifelong rule gainst gambling and bet you 100 United States dollars that they won't. But let's nail down the specifics:

*Vote WHEN?

*Vote WHERE?

*Riots WHEN?

*Riots WHERE?

*Martial law WHEN?

*Martial law WHERE?

I assume you mean "soon" for all of these things, but like any other wager one needs to know the when and the where. So we need specific/precise date(s) and location(s) in order to bet intelligently.

So just to make it clear: You are betting that there will be 1)riots AND 2)martial law AND 3) American's rights to vote being cancelled ALL AT THE SAME TIME at specific date(s), time(s) and location(s) in the near future. (I define near future as within the next three months but perhaps you don't.) If all of these things don't happen at the same time (or in reasonable proximity in time to each other), you lose.

So tell me when and where you expect all of these things to simultaneously happen and we'll go from there.

Hmmmm......on second thought, perhaps a wager involving 100 United States dollars might not be wise for you to engage in under these circumstances. If we do have simultaneous widespread riots, martial law and the suspension of the right to vote it logically follows that U.S. currency might become worthless. Perhaps we should be betting GOLD. I have a postal scale that measures in 1/10th of an ounce. The current estimate of a tenth of an ounce of gold is $135.31. I'll go with that instead of 100 dollars U.S.

One Reason Our “Do Nothing Congress” Does Nothing
August 06, 2014
Much has been said about GOP “obstructionism” – particularly as it relates to President Obama’s liberal agenda. It’s clear that as far as Republicans are concerned, President Obama NEEDS to be obstructed. But little has been said or written about Democrat “obstructionism.” Yes – that definitely exists as well, and ...

Obama’s “Legislative” Strategy
July 30, 2014
According to our Constitution, the Congress is supposed to MAKE the laws; the President is supposed to “faithfully EXECUTE” the laws, and the Judiciary is supposed to INTERPRET the laws (in a constitutional and legislative context). But now comes our President who believes his oath of office is not to ...
