I don't think Cruz can pull the rabbit out of the hat! What do you think?

I see Cruz having a very hard time attracting independents, but he could get them by default if Obamacare sticks it to them like I think it will.

Sheran commented on Saturday, Oct 12, 2013 at 22:35 PM

I just read this. liked it so much had to share...

-Socialism: You have two cows, the government takes one cow and gives it to your neighbor.
-Communism: You have two cows, the government takes both and gives you part of the milk.
-Fascism: You have two cows, the government takes both, and sells you the milk.
-Nazism: You have two cows, the government takes both and shoots you.
-Bureaucracy: You have two cows, the government takes both, shoot one, milks the other and pours the milk down the drain.
-Capitalism: You have two cows, you sell one, buy a bull, make more babies, then keep selling the offspring and making more money!

Go Sheran, go...

timeontarget commented on Sunday, Oct 13, 2013 at 07:16 AM

Capitalism and free enterprise made this country the greatest nation on earth.

In America's youth she quickly became the most powerful and richest nation ever.

The left's continual push for ever increasing welfare and socialism has gradually destroyed us.

I prefer Dr. Carson. I think he'd be wise to run on the Democratic ticket.

sebekm commented on Sunday, Oct 13, 2013 at 11:16 AM

I'll add one to the "ism's" from Sheran:

-Obamaism: You have two cows; they refuse to give milk; the government takes the milk from your neighbor's cows and markets it as being from your cows; and then puts your cows on food stamps.

Sheran commented on Sunday, Oct 13, 2013 at 18:04 PM

Good one sebekm, thanks for the laugh!
TOT, I like Dr. Carson myself on a GOP ticket...

sebekm commented on Sunday, Oct 13, 2013 at 18:07 PM

...I forgot to add:

After your cows go on food stamps, THE GOVERNMENT GIVES THEM CELL PHONES.

timeontarget commented on Monday, Oct 14, 2013 at 08:29 AM

I like the GOP ticket better myself.

I just feel like he could easily win as a Democrat.

From what I've seen and heard of Dr. Carson I would trust him to be for what is best for the nation no matter what his party affiliation.

If we end up with another President who follows the current path this will become a third world nation within the near future.

If the GOP implodes due to their intransigent Tea Partiers it will not matter one scintilla WHO they put on the ticket. Ben Carson may be a nice guy. But so was Jimmy Carter. Like it or not Carson in not a politician. He might make a good Parson but in the rough and tumble blood sport war of American politics he would be chewed up and spit out like sour milk. That is just Politics and the way it works these days. Is it perfect or even right? I emphatically say hell no!!

But, that's reality.

Sheran commented on Monday, Oct 14, 2013 at 17:56 PM

I still say Huckabee and Carson would make a good ticket! We need Mr Carson to fix Obama care and make it truly affordable.

Jimmy, I agree with your very informed analysis of today’s American politics and on how down and dirty it is. Ben Carson is a nice guy and I’m positively optimistic about his chances because he has the toughness and perseverance to overcome any onslaught the left will promote vigilantly against him. The only thing he can’t overcome IMHO is a baseless sex scandal that was waged against Herman Cain in 2011. The Tea Party will catapult the Republicans to take back the Senate in 2014 because Obama’s minions in the IRS are exposed and can’t suppress the conservative vote on this election cycle like they did in 2012.

Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee would be a formable team to beat in the 2016 General electio

Speaking of polls, the latest says the voters want to "throw the bums out," but also that -despite all of the negative press the Republicans are getting lately:

"...42% say the GOP can better manage the government vs. 39% who pick the Democrats."

http://www.usatoday.com/story/onpolit...

So the people haven't entirely lost their minds. More still know who is dedicated to allowing them to keep more of their tax dollars as opposed to those who make a living off of throwing it away.

JimmyMack commented on Tuesday, Oct 15, 2013 at 16:08 PM

Thanks for the link Sebe. I read it and for the majority of it, it seemed to me in my interpretation of it, people are dissatisfied with incumbents both Dems and Reps. Also the 42-39% margin showing the Republicans "favored' as more able to run the government falls well within the margin for error and was a minor point made considering the whole article : THROW THE BUMS OUT.

@Funk: Huckabee has already had his spin at the wheel and was weeded out by his own party. Dr. Carson seems to be an honorable man, but alas, in this last man\woman standing reality of Politics he doesn't have the mustard to cut it. A Cabinet member maybe but not POTUS or VP.

Also, if Republicans are unable to wean themselves from their Who amongst the probable candidates IS THE MOST CONSERVATIVE among them, they are doomed to defeat. Couple that with their Draconian fiscal policies and their out of touch views on social issues makes them a long shot at best for taking back the Oval Office.

We all may be doomed to gridlock as long as the Congressional Districts remain gerrymandered as they are now. A moderate Republican will get primaried out of the race and hence more uncompromising Tea Party types will be going to Washington. And that is a recipe for disaster.

That's just my opinion Funk, and as Dennis Miller used to say after one of his rants: I could be wrong.

sebekm commented on Tuesday, Oct 15, 2013 at 17:07 PM

The People always say "throw the bums out," and then they reelect the same bums. I guess what they are really saying is:

"THROW SOMEBODY ELSE'S BUM OUT."

Maybe what's driving it is that they think they're better off with the bum they know than the bum they don't know. (I wonder what the Brits would say about all dese "bums?")

I don't have the time to start another blog @ this time! Must see... on Fox News &CNN. ACORN has risen it's ugly head again...

@Sheran. Yes, but you started a good blog here that for the most part was very civil in nature. Good job.

Amazing. But I still trust the American people to know a bad deal when it bites fhem in the butt - even if it takes them awhile to figure it out. I'm hoping the light bulb goes on just before election time next year.

It's getting worse, now privacy threat found.

sebekm commented on Thursday, Oct 17, 2013 at 13:50 PM

Yep. Information "sharing" across broad networks throughout government is a necessity for the full implementation of ObamaCare. There's no way they can guarantee personal/private information won't be compromised.

Just another reason that ObamaCare is BAD LEGISLATION.
