City of Hinesville-Empowerment workshop for males!

I was surprised but excited to see that The City of Hinesville- Department of Community Development is hosting an empowerment seminar for males.

This could be a great resource for the community. I hope the event is facilitated and managed by a male. No offense to women but the men should spear-head the event. Why is this important? Because most males live in a home with out a father. We need men that are fathers, men that care about the state of the community, and men that have a vested interest in changing lives to take part in the event.

I also hope this isn't another grant funded program set up to keep staff on board- because that usually results in minimum standards being met and limited support to ensure the program is successful. I hope the program is set up to truly help males and make a difference in the community.

Please take advantage of the event and register a male today.

Title:Tied to Success-An empowerment workshop for males 10 years of age and older. Registration required by August 14, 2013. 912-876-6573

Place:Liberty County Performing Arts Center

Date: August 24, 2013-10:00 A.M.

Good Post PN. I am an old white boy but would like to support in some way. Who can I give some money to?

I'm not sure but I would wait to see how it goes before I invest. I don't' think race matters. It would be nice to expose the males in the program to males that don't look like them. Diversity is important- give both.:-)

Now JimmyMack why did race have to enter your conversation? Did you make any assumptions or profile anyone?

Good info, PolNat. I, too, hope that this "male empowerment workshop" is run by (a) male(s). It would be a very, very strange message to have a male empowerment workshop run by a woman, wouldn't it? Methinks that would defeat the purpose of the workshop....
