May God bless Roy Costner, for standing up for what he believes in.

And thank you Sheran, for sharing this inspirational message!

I'm so happy you've enjoyed it as much me Funk.

I personally think it was self induligent. I would not attempt to have an intimate personal conversation with you in front of hundreds of people. So why would I want to do it with my Creator. This was a just another politcial statement, it had nothing to do with faith.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 08:59 AM

I agree Up2. It certainly wasn't a silently humble Closer Walk With Thee but rather a stage production of loud evangelical conservatism more properly performed from a pulpit rather than a podium.

timeontarget commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 13:28 PM

Like Reagan once said

"There you go again"

timeontarget commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 13:31 PM

The young man simply did as our founding fathers advocated.

The moral decline continues.

Great post.

up2sumptin commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 14:53 PM

i respectfully disagree TOT. Could you cite some examples where the founding fathers advocated one faith above another.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 15:33 PM

He can't do it Up2 cause it ain't there. Tot shoots from the hip and his aim is not true.

His blogging timeontarget moniker is just the opposite regarding his views. It would be more appropriate if his handle was NotOnTarget. Many conservatives seek simplistic answers to problems regarding the poor, God being on their side, and what is and what is not in the Constitution. The word close-minded comes to my mind.

Up2, in my experience, the Lord’s Prayer has mostly always been said in unison together at church. So as a Christian it isn’t perceived as a personal conversation with my creator. By the way I don’t mind having a personal conversation with God or in front of hundreds of people; it just depends on the subject for me.

Roy Costner exercised his 1st Amendment Right; Freedom of Expression, not self indulgence see:

http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_...

He didn’t violate anyone’s rights or hurt anyone by his freedom of expression, for Christ’s sakes he even got a standing ovation to boot.

You have the right to feel differently about how you would conduct yourself, and you should respect his even though it’s different than your beliefs.

Freedom of Expression doesn’t advocate one faith above another; however it does allow you to express it in a free society.

May God Bless the USA, Roy Costner, Sheran, up2, JimmyMack and TOT :D

Well said, Funk....

up2sumptin commented on Friday, Jun 07, 2013 at 21:16 PM

I never said he didn't have the right to say what he pleased Funk. I was just commenting on what I perceived to be his motivation.

And may God Bless you too Funk. <3

up2 there are numerous instances and I will later copy some and post them here. I don't do cut and paste, Don't know how.

I've got a very busy day and weekend ahead.

Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Franklin to name just a few have been quoted many times.

I will attend to this as soon as I have the time to do so.

May God indeed bless us all, each and everyone of us.

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, Jun 08, 2013 at 08:44 AM

Tot: cutting and pasteing. Find the link you want and right click on it> then click copy. Then go the site you wish to post it and right click> then you will see paste then click on it.

Your link should then be pasted on the site.

I'll be eagerly waiting TOT. :D

Funkentelecky commented on Saturday, Jun 08, 2013 at 16:42 PM

Thanks Sheran for your support, I'm trying to grow up and be like Chief MVB!

Ok up2, I understand you completely now. You are within the top tier in regards to open mindedness and respect in my book.

JimmyMack, that was very nice and a sterling example that we all can learn from each other.

TOT, I'm eagerly waiting for your responses too!

timeontarget commented on Sunday, Jun 09, 2013 at 08:08 AM

up2 I've just gone over earlier comments and I want to correct myself.

I don't think our founding fathers ever advocated one faith over another.

I think that is made clear in their insistence that we have a separation of Church and State.

Our founding fathers frequently advocated prayer and did not attempt to dictate one church over another I don't think.

I will soon get the hang of the cut and paste thing and I'll post some examples as there are many.

I too appreciate your open mindedness.
