I read an article yesterday that perfectly illustrates the path our society is headed down. It made me thankful I was no longer raising small children (also - that I am not a resident of California). It's relatively short, so I'll post it here in its entirety.

"California Bill Would Allow Students to Use Bathrooms 'Consistent with His or Her Gender Identity'"

April 30, 2013

By Dan Joseph

"A proposed law introduced in the California State legislature would allow public school children to use bathrooms designated for members of the opposite sex, if that students' "gender identity" differed from the students biological sex."

"Assembly Bill 1266, introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, who represents a section of the city of San Francisco would:

"...require that a pupil be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil's record."

"While the bill does not specifically mention restrooms, restrooms and locker rooms are generally considered to be part of the "facilities" in schools throughout the country."

"The bill would apparently also require that biological males be permitted to try out for, and play on, girls' sports teams if they identify themselves as females."

"The Pacific Justice Institute, a legal defense group that champions traditional causes has set up a website opposing the so called "bathroom bill.""

"The website, GenderInsanity.com warns against the bill with a statement that reads:

" Picture this ... your 7 year-old daughter comes home from school in tears. You ask her what's wrong and she says she's afraid to go to the bathroom at school because a boy comes in while she's there. Outraged, you call the school to demand an explanation. You're told that your daughter is telling the truth, but because the boy says he wants to be a girl, their hands are tied. "It's the law."

"The bill was amended in Assembly on April 25th, 2013."

So here's more social "progress." Today it's in California. Tomorrow - if the "progressives" have their way - it's the law throughout the entire United States. Further, legalizing this lifestyle change would also defacto legalize this:

Well, I guess to stop the downward slide in society they could let all the transgendered diagnosed children go potty in their pants. Probably a better choice save for the stench.

MikeLongCounty commented on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at 17:40 PM

I have an idea, since having a drawing of a little boy and a little girl on the bathroom doors is too confusing; we can draw a picture of a "male sex organ" and a "female sex organ" on each door, and then everyone can take a little peek, if they need to, to know which bathroom they are supposed to use.

JimmyMack commented on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at 18:16 PM

Makes sence to me.

sebekm commented on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at 18:53 PM

I suggest that they LET BIOLOGY PREVAIL. Those who are born male are MALES and those born female are FEMALES, and they can continue to use the "facilities" that were designed for their biological construction since those "facilities" were designed. Then - when they get their transsexual/transgender surgeries - AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE, OF COURSE - they can use whatever "facility" fits.

It's not a matter of "going potty in their pants." Where have they been going until now? In the trashcans?

The liberals continue to whittle at the standards and morals of this society.

They are like termites or tics.

They are parasites.

MikeLongCounty commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 09:45 AM

Timeontarget regrettably though, their numbers are also increasing like termites in a home, or our home the USA. With the USA becoming even more multicultural, and loosing the identity that once united it as America; they will probably continue to "reproduce" like the pest you mentioned. And this is an infestation that I don't know if we can ever get under control, because we have lost that identity and it's values.

gacpl commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 09:46 AM

i agree with sebekem, you are what you were born as. if a parent decides to make their child a circus freak, we as a society should protect the kids and take them. if they grow up and decide they want to join the freaks at the circus let them do so on their own dollar.

JimmyMack commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 10:54 AM

"they are like termites or tics. They are parasites." Sayeth Tot.

Hitler began his planned destruction of the 'Jewish People' by innoculating the German public with Theatre Films portraying Jews as "mass producing vermin." The films equated the Jews to rats and roaches breeding out of control and destroying the German peoples heritage.

The moral decay, Tot, lies within you and your attempt to identify Liberals as Non-Humans. That is reckless and dangerous talk. If left unchallenged it leads to things like death camps, burning and torture, and the murder of the so called "parasites."

I will not call you a parasite Tot, but I will call you an ignorant right wing buffoon. Your lunacy knows no bounds. I am not as concerned with your elimination as your are with mine Tot, because I a know that the ideolgy you adhere to will eventually die on the vine. Your particular defective mindset is already on course for oblivion.

JimmyMack commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 11:03 AM

And to my friend MikeLongCounty, I can only say that I am disappointed that you used some of TOT's words. You are more civilized than that.

Liberalism is not a negatively implied "infestation" of termites. It is an opposing viewpoint that exists among humans the world over that stands up to a Conservative viewpoint held by other humans.

lholmes commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 11:16 AM

I foresee a surge in both private school enrollment and home schooling. That or a flaming meteor will wipe California off the face of the Earth.

MikeLongCounty commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 12:01 PM

JimmyMack, I by no means am calling anyone a termite. What I am doing is using the infestation of termites as an analogy of how I see liberalism affecting our country. I see the USA as a once new and strong home built on the foundation of the Bible and God's laws. Individual responsibility, rugged individualism, and the spirit to achieve and be great were a few of our ideologies. But in the past that home was invaded with what you would call a small number of "opposing views" to the values of what I believe our country was created on. A few examples of this are in God being taken out of the schools, abortion being looked at as birth control, the acceptance of homosexuality, the redefining of the family, a rampant welfare system, and the idea of the "Me Generation and I'm OK and You're OK" philosophy. And then as more of these "opposing views" invaded our "home" damage began to take place throughout the structure of the home. And as termites grow and multiple in a home, the home becomes an unstable and can eventually fall; so has our country become "unstable" and in my opinion in the process of "falling." At one time your ideas were in the minority, and mine were accepted. But over the last 20 years, since we have know each other, our places have reversed and now your views are accepted, and mine are in the minority and I am the relic who is looked upon as "intolerant." But just as you had hope in the past, so do I. I hope for another Ronald Reagan; one who can give us hope and help us find a way to rebuild our "Bright Shining City( or in this case home) on the Hill."

JimmyMack commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 12:08 PM

You've always been good with words Mike. And for the most part have always played fair. I undestand what you are trying to say. Nevertheless, you are using a Hitlerian Analogy comparing Liberals to termites, thus invalidating my and the Liberal Community's humanity.

MikeLongCounty commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 12:11 PM

I always have appreciated and respected your opinion Jimmy, and I do now also. We have always been able to agree to disagree and listen to each others views, and I appreciate that.

sebekm commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 13:14 PM

Good discussion. And since we're on the topic of "progress" as it relates to values, sexual identity, and the Liberal Community's humanity - here's a story which just hit the wire that I was hoping someone of the liberal persuasion could translate for me. The "speaker" was none other than Joe Biden - the Vice President of these United States. The forum was a fundraiser in Washington, D.C., and Mr. Biden was addressing the crowd - ostensibly thanking folks for their support. In attendance were most of the Vice President's immediate family, to include Mrs. Biden, their daughter, their two sons, and their two granddaughters. In addition to some general political remarks, for some reason Mr. Biden chose to make remarks about young women "coming of age." Specifically, he said THIS:

"He (Biden) spoke of the wonders of having granddaughters: "All you women out there: Daughters are wonderful. Granddaughters are betters." He lamented, though, that they grow up.

"When they're 12 to 14, a dad puts his beautiful little daughter to bed. And then the next morning, there's a snake in the bed."

See: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/b...

Now - I wonder what some of the more famous (or is it infamous?) liberals have to say about this? It will be interesting to hear what Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, and Debbie Wasserman Shultz have to say about it. Will they chalk it up to "one more dumb comment by "Crazy Joe?" Remember - this man is a heartbeat away from the Presidency and is on the record that he will run for President in 2016.

My hunch is that the lips of all of aforementioned Democratic party women officeholders will be sealed on this incident, as will those of NOW, NARAL, and the myriad other feminist grouops throughout the country. Guess what we'd have if these remarks were made by a Republican - say - Marco Rubio?

And the answer is: The media, the women's groups, and the DEMOCRATS would be howling about it for the next 3 1/2 years.

timeontarget commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 14:48 PM

One of the earliest post I put on this site addressed the decline from within when a country turns too much toward a liberal government and ceases to uphold the standards of our founding fathers.

Norman Matoon Thomas who had offered his candidacy for the office of President of this great nation, declared that the Democratic party of the United States would adopt each and every portion of the Socialist Party in the name of liberalism.

Us conservatives may be old fashioned and out of touch but we were taught to respect equal rights and honor the principals of the founders of this, the greatest nation ever conceived by mankind on this planet.

We believe in live and let live, but we believe that you need to earn your rights and don't expect the government to take care of you.

The liberals pushed for removing prayer from school as well as the belt and paddle. Both were bad mistakes.

They have embraced almost every unholy notion which has come along since about 1960 and the end result is not very pretty.

We are indeed a mixed bag of humanity.

Socialism has proven to be not capable of lasting.

Capitalism has proven to be rewarding and self sustaining.

Liberalism tends to eat at the productivity of a society.

If we don't turn back to our roots as well as our values I fear that we are doomed.

sebekm commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 15:58 PM

One of the main differences is that the left/liberals believe in a "living," "evolving" Constitution and the right/conservatives/libertarians endorse a "Constitution for the Ages" which sets forth principles and "truths" which are not only self-evident but serve as the foundation for the laws and the societal structure upon which this country is based. The problem with the "evolving" Constitution can be compared to a shifting foundation. What happens when a home's foundation shifts? Nothing good, thats for sure. Usually it results in cracking, crumbling, and eventually collapse of the structure which it supports. THAT'S the fundamental problem with the "evolving" Constitution concept.

A great American President once said: "A house divided cannot stand." He might also have said: "A house suported by a shifting foundation will soon be divided."

We see it in our society every day.

JimmyMack commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 17:27 PM

Geeeeez Sebe, at least Joltin Joe didn't refer to them as tics or termites. Joe's KNOWN for his verbal gaffes. Foolish buffoon conservatives such as Tot are dangerously deranged ideologues convinced of their righteous certainty on all matters.

While Joltin Joe does B class standup routines fit for the Poconos, right wing conservatives like Tot and tweedle dee march to a politcal drum beat much more ominous than stupid verbal gaffes. The primary difference between Joltin joe and those like Tot, is the human consequences of their actions.

Which is more dangerous? A misspeaking politician making an awkward reference regarding women, or an idiological deluded zealot that equates human kind with bugs?

sebekm commented on Thursday, May 02, 2013 at 23:30 PM

Joltin' Joe is Vice President of the United States. In the grand scheme of things, what he says "on the record" (or off) on the national stage as the successor to the most powerful job on the planet is ten thousand times more "dangerous" than anything written on any topic by anybody who posts in our tiny cyber-bathoom.

As they say on ESPN: C'MON MAN! No minimizing allowed re: the #2 Democrat in this country. WHAT HE SAYS MATTERS - OR IT DAMN WELL SHOULD! Democrats elected him twice, and the rest of the country has every right to challenge his competence to hold public office whenever it appears to be lacking. It has appeared lacking to me for nearly five years. Biden even makes DUBYA look articulate.

Yes - what Biden says about anything is far more dangerous than our written trivialities here. The rest of us are just pissants by comparison.

timeontarget commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 05:21 AM

Excellent blog and very good discussion for the most part.

Thank you Mr Sebekm for your usual fair and balanced observation and commentary.

Mike you also helped to explain the analogy and you did it quite clearly.
Our house is under attack from within and our foundation is indeed crumbling.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 08:56 AM

I beg to disagree Sebe. Joltin Joe ain't running the country yet. He has a long history of Senate Leadership and making good decisions.

Hate speak, as exemplified by TOT, is just one small example of its prevalence among many on the right. Not only on these "tiny" pages but in vast numbers of other commentary sites. It is a malignancy that insults the dignity of human beings and is a very dangerous thing.

So, NO SEBE. Dehumanizing People is the greater danger. I will take Joe over Zig Zag Zell any day of the week. One NEVER knows what will come out of Ziggy Stardust's mouth. A political opportunist if there ever was one.

But you can count on one thing here tho Sebe, and that is the hate speak of Tot and his narrow limited perspective regarding humankind.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 09:04 AM

I hold immense respect for you Sebe but it is becoming very disheartening to me to see your words lent in suupport to the likes of Tot.

sebekm commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 15:12 PM

Jimmy: He's the VP and a heartbeat away from the Presidency. He represents this country around the world and by virtue of his position, he speaks FOR the President of the United States. This most recent incident is but one of literally HUNDREDS where he has made this country look dumb and has said things which make people question his compentency. Heck - even Osama bin Laden could figure out that Biden had no business as President - and said so when he was discussing killing Obama in order to deal a crippling blow to this country. It wasn't Obama's death that would have been the cripping blow in bin Laden's view - IT WAS THE FACT THAT CRAZY JOE WOULD THEN BE PRESIDENT!

As far as TOT dehumanizing people - the two of you have been dehumanizing each other for awhile now. And you haven't minced many words yourself, Jimmy.

When I comment here, I rarely intend to "lend support" to anyone unless I specifically say so - as in "I agree with your comments about termites" or whatever. But you know my general political views (if you've read my posts and I assume that you have since you've responded to some of them). I believe many of the goals of the left are "dangerous" and potentially "dehumanizing" to various segments of our society, and I've said so. But I purposely avoid name-calling because I think it gets us nowhere and only fuels the sandbox.

I respect you and your opinions as well - regardless of whether I agree with them or not. But I'm just trying to call 'em as I see 'em - just as I'm sure you are.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 15:55 PM

Yes, you are right Sebe. I am acallin' 'em as I see 'em also. And I see it the way I described above and am sticking to it.

Joltin Joe would\could turn out to be a far better President than W. ever was.

And Tot would make a good "leader" for the Hitler Youth should we return to THOSE good ole days.

But, back to the subject of this here blog. The invitation to attend Tybee Islands Inaugural Tybee Gay Days for Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and the Transgendered is still open to everyone here. Heck fire, it may can turn into a 'teachable opportunity" just by you and and Tot attending if for nothing else to ascertain where the transgendered go to potty.

You can acquire Eye Witness Accounts to buttress your observations, rants and pontifications on these tiny cyber walls.

America! What a Country!!!!

sebekm commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 16:11 PM

You've had your share of rants and pontifications as well, Jimmy. And as far as "Tybee Days" goes - I wouldn't be surprised if they sink the island. But that's just my personal opinion.

And c'mon - if Biden was a Republican the vast majority of the country would be hooting that he was 10 times worse than Bush. At least Bush knew when to shut up.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 17:33 PM

Nay, Nay Brother Sebe. W, the boy king, did NOT know when to shut up. W was our "Decider" remember. He inaugurated a multi-trillion dollar mass hunt for non-existent WMD's.

I stand by my noted comments above re you and Tot and all the other stuff.

Now, back to the blog subject: Potty time for the transgendered. NOt sure we solved that one yet. Again, I suggest you and Tot take an amiable ride to the shin-dig and .... check things out and report back.

My only suggestion is that you, Sebe, do the reporting as Tot is....what's the PC word.... intellectually challenged.

I being a liberal democrat will pay for yalls gas money and flaming Hot Dogs while studying the transgendered Potty issue.

Look upon it as scientific learning process shared by your kindred souls.

I also will thro in a condo time share for the two of you at no charge that I co-own with a liberal 'termite' on Tybee.

Yall just need some of those extra little umbrellas you put in mixdrinks as that particular item tends to run short on these occasions.

Have a good time on me now, ya heah!!!

Funkentelecky commented on Friday, May 03, 2013 at 23:38 PM

JimmyMack, you are giving a sterling example of double standards and no accountability. Except for the hotdogs and gas. The Vice President has more influence for positivity or negativity in his pinky finger to Americans than TOT has in his entire body. (No offense to you TOT) Just calling it as it is, which is more factual than calling it as I see it! He has more influence than this entire blogosphere my patriotic brother!

timeontarget commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 07:19 AM

Funkentelecky, he is also giving a sterling example of a double standard regarding name calling.

I've tryed to ignore his toilet talk regarding the person of Timeontarget.

He has stalked TOT from one blog site to another on numerous occasions. He attacks the person of someone who is unknown as if he knows their identity while in fact he does not.

timeontarget commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 07:32 AM

I am a conservative on most issues however I have some liberal beliefs although they are very limited in scope.

The total embrace of the liberal mentality is unholy and it is damaging to this country.

I read just yesterday where some liberal Judge in Mass. has ordered a sex change operation of a convict in an all male prison which will be performed at the expense of the taxpayers. That is insane.

I don't consider any of us to be a Boso and I will be respectful if I'm being treated respectfully.

I will always be opposed to most of what the Democratic party supports because my religious and my social instincts lead me down that path.

The liberal agenda for the most part is having and has in the past already had the very same effect on this country as that of termites within a home or building.

If the shoe fits then wear it.

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 10:34 AM

Gee fellas. Seems somebody's got all yalls panties in a wad. I guess I must be doing something right.

Hi Funk. Since you have now inserted yourself in this dust up, you are also welcome at the Tybee Condo along with Tot and Sebe.

It has become a mission now and it must be completed: WHERE DO THE TRANSGENDERED GO POTTY? Nothing like eye-witness accounts guys. Don't let this opportunity pass you by.

Please report back here to enlighten some of us termites.

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 10:56 AM

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I will remain here chewing on yalls Leave it to Beaver abode til yall get back with the Potty report. Got one or two more foundation bearing spots to chew thru to complete the job. Unfortunately one of the other termites told me the whole darn house seems to be sitting on a sinkhole. It may just fall on in before we finish eating it up.

Can't have everything I guess.

up2sumptin commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 11:32 AM

I don't have a problem with transgendered using the ladies bathroom. My concern is for persons who label themselves a female even though biology labels them as male. My concern is not so much those who truly see themselves as females but for the creepizoids who would use this as an opportunity to "peep". Not sure how one would go about shifting the chaff from the wheat.

sebekm commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 14:48 PM

up2: I'm not sure you can.

Funky: You've hit the nail on the head. That was my point. Some get it, some don't. C'est la vie.

TOT: I do agree that the total embrace of the liberal mentality is the wrong answer.

Jimmy: Transgendered go potty where their biology dictates. As I recall, there are LAWS which cover the issue. Let them obey the laws - just like the rest of us have to. If they want to excercise their "right to choose" and have a surgical procedure to alter their gender - IMHO:

*Let them pay for it themselves (i.e., NO TAX DOLLARS), and

*Let them wait until the surgery is complete before they "trans" their way to the wrong bathroom.

There is no constitutional right for the majority to acquiesce to every want, desire or supposed "need" of the majority unless it is required by law. When it's the law, I won't object. Until then, let them obey the law that is.

Once again for Jimmy: Obviously, we're going to disagree on most things because I believe that the liberal agenda is the WRONG ANSWER for the future of this country. If someone happens to agree with me on that, I won't apologize for it - or for them. As I recall, you and I have agreed on a number of things since we've been posting here at the same time. I don't agree just to be "sociable," and I assume you don't either.

Sorry if we are on opposite sides of the issues, but I won't apologize - or change my position - because of it.

JimmyMack commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 15:39 PM

Not asking anyone to apologize for anything. Nor change their positions. And I DO KNOW that just by virtue of his holding the office of Vice President that Joltin Joe has immense power while the androgenous being of Tot holds little or none, hiding under his klan like hood. Never did I intend to suggest that the two were equal. If it was misconstrued that that was what I was attempting to say, well...I ain't doing no apologizing for it. Think what you will. They probably BOTH are closer to being confirmed lunatics than either of them will admit.

However, Tot and his ilk are just the sort of humans that The Southern Poverty Law Center headed by Morris Dees keep tabs on. And yes, I have sent them copies of Tot's hate speech.

I, like the Southern Poverty Law Center, believe in teaching tolerance. And as long as I see examples of intolerance here or else where I am going to point it out for what it is.

Call me what you will here on these pages. I can take it and most importantly you know who I really am. Much unlike the coward Tot who has "chosen to hide his profile" and sling his rocks from the dark.

And yes, we can agree to disagree Sebe. Never said otherwise.

MikeLongCounty commented on Saturday, May 04, 2013 at 18:19 PM

Speaking of intolerance, due to all of you participating in this fine forum, you get a little head's up on some important information. Make sure to pick tomorrow's paper (Sunday 5/5), there will be an Op/Ed piece in the paper on the subject.

JimmyMack commented on Sunday, May 05, 2013 at 11:42 AM

Great article Mike. Well done. And as you so correctly pointed out you and I are for the most part on different sides of the aisle on many topics. But we have demonstrated respect toward one another. In your article in the Courier today I think it is fair to say that this time we are BOTH on the same page

Tolerance and change represents two of the great tenets of American society.

Excellent article, Mike!!

JimmyMack commented on Sunday, May 05, 2013 at 11:54 AM

I will now address one of the intolerant humans on these pages, the coward Tot.

While you were away Tot, me and my fellow termites ate away one more of the foundation boards to your 1950's hate talk house. Jason Collins of the NBA has come out of the closet. He has stated that he has never felt more free. Jason is also a proud black man and is supported by many other pro athletes; among them Kobe Bryant, and LeBron. Jason also was called by two Presidents hailing his courage.

It want be long Tot til your retro back to the past lodging will be destroyed or resting at the bottom of a sinkhole, forever lost and uninhabitable. A bigoted relic representative of a bygone era that will only be able to be viewed in a museum in some tourist town.

And that Tot, makes JimmyMack very happy!

sebekm commented on Sunday, May 05, 2013 at 12:17 PM

MikeLC: Good article. It highlights what is commonly ignored - especially in online forums such as this: that the media is in the pockets of the liberal agenda. They - the liberals and the media - want everything their way and are the first to scream "foul" when they perceive intolerance, but they often demonstrate little - VERY LITTLE - of the same tolerance that they claim the right is lacking when a conservtive - or NON-liberal - belief or opinion is expressed.

sebekm commented on Sunday, May 05, 2013 at 12:19 PM

...and name-calling is also a demonstration of intolerance.

JimmyMack commented on Sunday, May 05, 2013 at 13:31 PM

If anything we on the Left have learned from the verbal bomb throwers: Ann Coulter, Jesse Helms, Mitch McConnell, Newt, Michelle Bachman, Glenn Beck, Fox and Friends,Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, the 'swift boaters' etc... it is to return fire quickly and with force. Unlike Dukakis and his tank ride, and Kerrys Karl Rove orchestrated swift boat strike against him, where in both instances the Left was slow to react and meet like with like, we have learned the mastery of the counter punch.

No more conservative fire hoses, no more german shepherds, no more Liberal weenie pinko F%G talk. No sir! We will not TOLERATE Gay Bashing, Liberal Bashing, Race Bashing, Woman Bashing.

It is referred to as STANDING UP TO THE INTOLERANT. It is only NOW, now that we have a well placed foot on the rights conservative jugular vein that we are hearing more crys and whining of foul from the right. We on the Left have withstood the Blood Sport Republican Firestorm ignited, IMHO, by Newt's take down of Jim Wright as Speaker of the House circa 1990's. And having survived it we are stronger for it.

And like that famous line from the Movie Network; We are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore.

up2sumptin commented on Monday, May 06, 2013 at 00:24 AM

True JM, there are many conservative "verbal bomb throwers" but I'd like to point out there are some nasty liberal bomb throwers too. But you are right, no matter the party or position, there is no room for name calling and character assassination. We may not agree on politics and religion but we can agree we are all human beings and have the right to be treated as such.

In my experience, the vitriole and name-calling usually STARTS on the left. Just as talk radio was a response to the domination of the liberal media (television and print), such was the creation of such "news" networks as FNC - which was specifically created to counter the vitriole and slant of the "bomb-throwers" on the so-called major news networks and the new cable networks such as MSNBC and CNN. For a long time, CNN used to play things down the middle with their programs like Crossfire and their anchors who weren't all from the left (like Lou Dobbs). Now it's polarization all the way. We see it on television and then "monkey-see-monkey-do" kicks in on sites like this.

Neither side has a monopoly on intolerance or vitriole, but from my perspective, the left has the overwhelming lead in HYPOCRISY.

I'm sorry, Jimmy, but when say I am against homosexual "marriage," I am NOT "gay bashing." When I say that the liberal vision for this country is THE WRONG ANSWER, I am not "liberal bashing." When I say that President Obama was elected to the Presidency primarily due to his overwhelming support from the black and minority community, I am NOT "race bashing." And when I say that I believe that when abortion is used as a matter of national policy as a prime method of birth control - and that is THE WRONG ANSWER - I am not "woman bashing." Those on the left are too quick to paint someone with a difference of opinion or belief as a "basher." Just because someone disagrees or criticizes doesn't make them a "basher."

Ok Sebe. But I never called you those things and I disagree with some of your points: "abortion as a prime method of birth control." I do not endorse that stance.

As for the rest of your 'bashing' points you have every right to be wrong in voicing them as I have in disagreeing with them.

Lou Dobbs a lefty??!!! I think not. That idiot that sat across form Bill Press, Robert Novak, God rest his soul, was a certifiable right wing lunatic.

Hi Jimmy: I also have every right to be right, too. As for Lou Dobbs - I said he wasn't from the left. (I think you misunderstood.) My point was that the old CNN tried to be "fair and balanced" as they had both the "certifiable lunatics" from the right AND the certifiable lunatics from the left on there. That way they could hypothesize their extremities, and if the viewer paid REAL CLOSE attention, you could pinpoint the center.

Kind of like pin-the-tail on the donkeys (and elephants).

Ok. Mis read it. Sorry,

I did tho enjoy Cross Fire for a spell.

It was "must-see-TV" for me for several years. I especially liked the Novak-Press and Buchanan-Kinsley tandems. And in television, there have been just a few "tag" intro's or endings that I made it a special point to watch or listen to. One was the tag "There are eight million stories in the Naked City. This has been one of them" from the TV series. Another was William Conrad's narrative intro to "The Fugitive" starring David Janssen. And another was Robert Novak's tag: "Join us again next time for another edition of CROSSFIRE."

Good stuff.

Yes I agree. The emphasis he put on that word: CROSSFIRE was summpin else wansn't it?! I really enjoyed Kinsley's 'reaction' to Novak's saying it.

One Reason Our “Do Nothing Congress” Does Nothing

Much has been said about GOP “obstructionism” – particularly as it relates to President Obama’s liberal agenda.
