I agree Sebe,
I just wonder why they cant figure this out. It will still be a problem without having it an eight team playoff system. All of the lower Divisions have it correct, and it's works. Could it be money? Greed? Postering? I don't know. Maybe.
I agree Sebekm. We already have the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, and Orange who have all outbid all the others to secure their primo status among bowls in the current system. Plus there is already a separate BCS NC game. While I realize I am a simpleton at best, why not let the bidding begin to add two more bowls for a total of six to determine your two finalists? We could have four great games one weekend, two the next, and then the NC game on another. Let these bowls keep their sponsorship affiliations, only now in a playoff format. All the other bowls can carry on as usual. I am probably missing something and it most certainly pertains to money if I am, but it sounds good to me as a fan.
When they (The BCS Commissioners) see that this may not be enough, they will go back to their situation room, and add the appropiate amount if games to make this right.
Yep. My Bears just went OL, too. So much for the Manti T'eo story. Minn may take him at 25. Ogletree is still there as well. My LB pick for the Bears all along was Arthur Brown of Kansas State. Brown graded out as the top inside LB, and the knock on him is "too short." That's EXACTLY what they said about Singletary.
The trend is in the first round, the talent pool of quarterbacks, and runningbacks, was weak thus year and is evident by the selections in the first round. The need this year in the majority goes to the Offensive and Defensive Line seems like.
Yes - that's what I saw. Almost all picks were OL, DL and defensive secondary - but there were EIGHT OL picks. Only two WRs and one QB went; no RB.
The "experts" are calling this a "weak draft class," but that's only because they can't pump up all of the "sexy" position picks (QB, RB, WR). IMHO - this is a STRONG draft class, because it's the trench warfare that all teams are built around. If you ain't got it on the OL and DL, you are getting your butt whipped. Take a look at last year's NCAA National Championship game. The CONSENSUS of the "experts" is that Alabama dominated because their OL dominated. (The DL wasn't too shabby either.) Without that domination, there is no blow-out.
Aaron Rogers, Quartetback Of the Green Bay Packets just signed a new contract extension. You can believe it will surpass Ravens Quarterback Joey Flacco's contract.
Back to the Draft. Well Sebe, two Georgia Line Backers went in the first round. Ogletree and Jones. Quarterback and Runningback wise, I agree. I dont believe any were super. They would have drafted in the first round. Really you think Smith and other Quarterbacks was super this year? I dont believe so. Runningbacks, I eould have given Marcus Lattimore a first round draft pick, until he injuref himself. Lacy? I never thougjt he was a first round draft pick. So the NFL assessments are correct in my opinion.
I do agree with you Sebekm about the Offensive and Defensive Line of Alabama. But it wasn't all Alabama. Georgia has just as many as Alabana. However; the draft picks suggest otherwise, as the first overall draft pick came ftom Mount Pleasant Michigan. Central Michigan University.
Thus is interesting. I have never seen so many lineman gone in the first riound before. I have seen s lineman drafted number one overall before but not this many in the first round. Have you?
No - I think they might have been close to the "record" for linemen picked in the first round. And no - I don' t think this draft had any QBs worth a flip either. All grade out with significant minuses, which probably means that half of them will make All-Pro (think Brady and round 6).
Interesting stuff. The Bears went SEC in round 2 with MLB Bostic from FLA. Another legacy as his dad also played in the NFL like Long's dad (but didn't make it to the HOF).
Well the Honey Badger made it in. I believe his off thr indiscrectionaries didn't hurt his draft status at all. He would been selected the same even if he was screechy clean, if you look at the draft selections. LSU sent a lot of players this year to the NFL Draft. Seems as if they list the most players. LSU are depleted of defensive players. They will definitely be vunerable this year. Georgia play them this year I think, and you can believe me when I tell you this: Expect Georgia to be a National Title Contender this 2013 Fall Season.
You can believe this too: if Georgia meet Alabama this year for the SEC Championship, Georgia will beat Alabama. But I don't think Alabama will beat Johnny Football and the Texas A&M Aggies to even make it to the Georgia Dome.
Another EX LSU Player Arrested. Tharold Simon Cornerback was arrested in his hometown of Eunice Louisanna for public intimafatiion.
Yes - he was arrested on Thursday and drafted by Seattle tonight. Tyrann Mathieu - LSU's "Honey Badger" who failed numerous drug tests; was booted off the team; and eventually quit school - was drafted by Arizona last night. All of this begs the question:
Does this mean that character no longer counts in NFL prospects - or are these just two more examples of "the SEC and everybody else?"
(I'll give one answer myself: Could be that it's "LSU and everybody else" this time. Baton Rouge is starting to look like the new Miami.)
The ONLY thing that natters in the NFL is getting paid. Qwners, players, sponsors, networks, and etc,
Well Baton Rouge nay be looking like the new Miami . Not the old Miami. Those days are over fir Miami, and now LSU, you will see Septembet 2013 when LSU travels to Sanford Stadium in Arhens, Georgia to face Georgia. Georgia will execute a large dose of payback and Whip A-- on LSU. This will be at least a 10 point win over LSU. This Bulldog team are excited pumped up snd full of emotions already. Scuffles are happening already on the defense ss playets are trying to win starting positions.
