At the risk of being contencious, are we to then think that us that are not part of the 1% are victoms?
The fallacy of the video is that it fails to point out HOW wealth is acquired in this country. And it implies that regardless, it should be "distributed equitably." This is pure socialism, as defined as:
"the quest for economic justice. The basic assumption underlying it is that the market place, under conditions of laissez-faire competition, is incapable of securing to society an equitable distribution of wealth."
Consequently, the story goes that many (or most) of those who have accumulated wealth in this country have not earned it, are not entitled to it, and should - in layman's terms - "give it up" for the common good of others.
The counter-argument is: why should wealth be "redistributed" to those who ahve not EARNED it? Does one have a "right" to wealth just because they are alive and breathing?
Remember, the Constitution guarantees the PURSUIT of happiness - not happiness itself. By extension, this means people are supposed to work, contribute, merit - whatever you want to call it - the acquisition of our societies' rewards (i.e., wealth) to incentivize the population and succeeding generations. It's tough keeping our system on the straight and narrow, but SOCIALIZING it isn't the answer.
I'm not sure what is "must see" about the video - except for those who are interested in socialist propaganda.
Another fallacy is that it doesn’t give accurate numbers, who is to believe economists that are left leaning will give you a clear picture. Most of this data is usually 2 years behind to ensure accuracy. The top 1% doesn’t earn 40% of the wealth; in 2009 they earned around 17% and paid around 37% of the bill. A poor person doesn’t create jobs and the federal government doesn’t create wealth. See the real numbers here presented by the Tax Foundation:
And here’s proof of more free stuff from the Obama Administration which will garner more votes and keep Americans dependent on Big Daddy G!
Big Daddy G.....was in the mix before President "O"....Big Daddy Bush and his sons GOP....charged the credit card and we have been paying for it......the problem is everyone wants to blame one man for the state our country is in....the truth is this country was set back under the Bush era....GOP era....
PoliyicsNation, before I bombard you with more facts. Can you give this blogosphere one specific reason why it was only GWB's fault? I didn't say it was only Obama's fault I have reiterated that he has exacerbated the problem he inherited
I dont consider your postings factual..its GOP propaganda....starting with SOLANDRA.....Romney lost because of those same talking points...its time for thr GOP to regroup and throw away their current playbook...if not, the GOP is done....Jeb nor the GOP Water Boy-Rubio will be able to revive the Grand Old Party.

PoliticsNation, Big Daddy G grew under GWB there were 32M on food stamps in January 2009 now there are 48M a 53% increase under Big Daddy “O.” The National debt was 10.6T on January 20, 2009 and the National debt today is 16.7T.
The National debt rose 4.8T under GWB in 8 years or 96 months and it has raised 6.1T under BHO in 4.2 years or 50 months. How can GWB be responsible for BHO’s 6.1T.? Remember this:

PoliticsNation, according to your statement the liberal NYT is spouting the same talking points about the “facts” on Solyndra :D

And here are the top ten lessons of the Solyndra Failure:
http://energycommerce.house.gov/blog/...
PoliticsNation, this country has a real problem when you name call Marco Rubio as the Water boy and don’t answer back to the subject at hand. That is an MSNBC Heehaw talking point defacto, you can’t have it both ways and I challenge you in that you don’t really grasp the issues in it. Just a talking point and no articulation or substance whatsoever.
I find it interesting that any negitive rhetoric towards obabma is considered GOP propaganda... obama continues to be the real golden boy of this decade. I think it is important to highlight that leaders are responsible for what happens on their watch. They should pass accolades of successes to their team and accept responsibilty for their failures. The continued "it's not my fault" ship sailed a long time ago. Like it or not, Funky presents some factoids from credible sources.
Great point HMJC; however as I said before President Obama is not a leader. You and I are, I've been in charge of someone since 1989 from 2 people as a Buck Sergeant to over 240/60 as a Drill Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant to 13 now in the Private Sector. BHO looks good, sounds good, but is not true leadership material as you articulated.
"I find it interesting that any negitive rhetoric towards obabma is considered GOP propaganda...."
....or racist.....
The real irony of all of this is in about a year and a half to two years obamas supporters are going to start feeling some of the pain his policies have created. The real scary part is obama has nothing to lose and to date it is apparent that he knows that.
Okay lets start here:
Bush Era.
1. WARS
2.DEFICIT SPENDING
3.DEREGULATION
4.TAX CUTS
I'm holding Obama accountable too, for not ending the wars, for extending the tax cuts, for not imposing new regulations and taking Wall Street to task (and to court)he has to actually FIX Bush's mess, that's why we elected him! With that said he needs the House to fall in line and do what's best for the country...The GOP hate is tearing the country apart..They with-held information from their own party. They met with the President and had no idea he placed an offer on the table. We need to work together to clean up what the Bush Administration messed up.

1.Wars were approved by Congress with over 70%bipartisanship (Leadership). Whether you agree with them or not it passed constitutional muster; however Obamacare didn’t and its more costly than the wars, will not reduce healthcare costs, will more unnecessary debt and was only held up to passage by a conservative because of his interpretation of Congress power to tax.
2.The National debt and Big Daddy G grew too much under GWB 5.7T to 10.T in 8 years and BHO hasn’t come thru either inheriting 10.6T to 16.7T in 4.2 years. Bush is gone it’s not his problem the President has exacerbated the problem.
3.GWB tried to get Congress to deregulate Fannie and Fannie who sold toxic loans to Goldman Sachs and other financial institutions. The Housing reinvestment Community Act started by Jimmy Carter in 1977 was emphasized again by Bill Clinton in 1999. The Feds pressured banks into lowering their standards and issued too many toxic loans to people who couldn’t afford them. Bush warned Congress around 34 times with 17 of the warnings coming in 2008.
4.We had full employment during 6 of GWB 8 years with 52 straight months of strong job creation because of the revenue from a booming economy. However the Financial crisis which started with no deregulation of Fannie and Freddie and blocked by the Democrats is the root cause of the collapse, not GWB’s economic policies.
The new regulations have still not been imposed on Fannie and Freddie. The House is an equal branch of government and the President isn’t a dictator or leader. John Boehner is 3rd in line behind the BHO and Biden and he can’t bully legislation through Congress he needs to learn how to compromise like Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Both had enormous economic economic success with the other party in charge by triangulating the best ideas of each. The House doesn’t have to fall in line, PRESIDENT OBAMA NEEDS TO LEAD!
Your mind is made up....so is mine...the POTUS will go down in history as one of the greatest.
BUSH is rated the WORST...End of conversation.
PoliticsNation, A.K.A. Al Sharpton
There has been no conversation whatsoever from you, I’ve presented credible evidence based on facts. You don’t understand our system of government, your answers speak for it and you can only answer by talking points and baseless accusations because you don’t know the issues. I refuse to let you, the President or anyone else mislead the members of this blog or the American people. Here’s some hints watch some Fox News or talk radio, Herman Cain would be a good start. When you’re talking points start talking (Democrats) conduct some internet research on your own, you have to get a balance of what’s actually going on before you truly understand, and otherwise you will continue to be uninformed. This is too much work for most left leaning talking heads. The conversation is not over and Solyndra is a failure and if you can’t admit that one fact, what credibility do you have?
Another solid month of private sector job growth and some key gains for minority workers too.
There's a lot to like in this new jobs report: http://on.msnbc.com/13Lp2Xp
May God have mercy on the USA for the lost souls that do not think or provide for themselves and have not a clue!
Not too sure where the "greatest" POTUS is founded in... At most he should get credit for being present, just like he voted a good amount when he was a senator.
No - it is NOT "end of conversation." He may be a legend in his own mind (and those of his fans), but he'll have to do more than simply being the first black President; an excellent orator; and a terrific campaigner to go down in history as one of the "greatest" Presidents. As of now, his legacy includes being a divider - not a uniter; piling up more debt than any President in history; and wining reelection with less than 52% of the popular vote. Hardly qualifications for being categorized among the greatest.
He still has an opportunity to make it into the upper tier - IMHO - providing he actually leads. He has shown flashes of this recently. He needs to continue to marginalize the wackier elements of his base, and crack the whip on Pelosi and Reid. He should also continue to ignore the CBC, who have been whining about the racial makeup of his Cabinet. He needs to just pick those he believes are best qualified, and keep all forms of cronyism to a minimum.
