"Today the House passed No Budget, No Pay legislation with bi-partisan support. The bill will require the House and Senate each to pass a budget, and Member pay will be withheld if they fail.

The principle is simple: no budget, no pay.

It's time for the Senate to act. It has been almost four years since the Democratic-controlled Senate passed a budget, while our national debt has skyrocketed by over $5 trillion.

Watch our new video "Earning It" - about Senate Democrats failure to do their jobs and pass a budget:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zYgZdvhqymE "

This video places ALL the blame on the Democratic controlled Senate. Do you agree? Personally I think no one;s hands are clean, including the taxpayers.

Interesting video.

One could seize this opportunity to praise the Republicans who are the majority in the house of representatives.

However I see you report that this issue was passed with bi-partisan support and I think that is a good thing.

Now if the Senate will be as responsible as the House then just maybe we can start to correct our course.

I just saw where Germany is withdrawing all of the German Gold reserve from the bank in France.

They are withdrawing an equal amount of the German Gold reserve from the Federal Reserve in New York. However they are not withdrawing all of their gold for the US (at least not just yet)

I predict that the US credit rating will be downgraded a second time before this year ends unless we cut spending and substantially reduce borrowing.

"Personally I think no one;s hands are clean, including the taxpayers."

I think no one's hands in Washington are clean.

What is meant by including the taxpayers in that statement?

I'm not disagreeing I want to understand.

I think we are spending just about double the amount of money that we are taking in.

We can't sustain this sort of reckless management.

The current Administration is a disgrace.

By current Administration I mean all members of Congress as well as the President and his entire staff.

ToT, I mean we vote them in and until recently, we have not held them accountable. We are just as much a part of the problem as the politicians.

The Republican -controlled House has passed a budget every year. The Democrat-controlled Senate has not. It's as simple as that. The system is designed so that each is supposed to pass their own version each fiscal year, and then a committee from both meets to "reconcile" the two. The Democrats have refused to do for nearly four years what the law requires.

Unlike some of our other problems, the blame for this one is clear:: the fact that there has been no budget is totally on the Dems. What's even worse is that they couldn't/wouldn't pass one EVEN WHEN THEY CONTROLLED BOTH HOUSES FOR TWO YEARS.

Not having a budget and working off a continuing resolution as they have for all this time has been subterfuge with one main objective: when they do this it prevents transparency and in many ways it hides actual expenditures and goals for use of taxpayer dollars.

The Dems have been in the leadership and they own the process. There has been no "OBSTRUCTIONISM" by the GOP here. The obstructionists are the DEMS - this time.

Great post up2! I’ve addressed this dereliction of duty numerous times over the last two years. This is a primetime example of leadership, which is lacking in Washington D.C.
