I didn't expect the sign to have "babies" when I took my camera to SAV on one of my wife's frequent Dr. appts (which by the way the Dr's office is a long spit away from The Sign.) Another time when I went by there were at least a half-dozen little signs populating the lawn. And no - none of them endorsed a Democrat.

Obviously, the homeowner is serious. The Sign has been up for YEARS (at least 4). I'm surprised that it has never been vandalized.

Jimmy: I've seen plenty of comments on this board to the effect that America should be saved from the conservative Republicans. And those comments were not always retaliatory. I really don't see them as "pure hate." The ideological differences will always remain - especially as demonstrated in our recent election where the incumbent only received 52% of the vote.

It is the name callers like Tot, Sheran, and others that I am talking about. They love to dish it out, but they just can't take it or better yet, they are just plain afraid to get their venom spewed back in their faces.

My comments on hidden profiles have generally been directed toward one person (regardless of what pseudonym that person uses). Unfortunately, not everyone knows the full history. and since comments are here for all to view, it is easy for others to take things personally which are not directed toward them. (I know I'm speaking in "code" here, but the "veterans" understand - plus I am trying to let things go and allow the past to be the past.)

I usually try to behave myself on this board per the following:

1. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

2. No name-calling, not even in retaliation. VERY HARD TO DO. I have failed many times (but hopefully not too much recently).

3. Don't "speak down" to people, but I realize my verbose verbiage more often than not comes across as sanctimonious pontification. Another fault I've not been able to fix.

4. Recognize that everyone's opinion has merit and is usually based upon their own life's experiences and training - WHICH MIGHT NOT NECESSARILY BE THE SAME AS MY OWN.
