Sometime you win.

Sometime you lose.

For now we must all close ranks, join together and hope for better days ahead.

This blog site can have an impact on our government.

Not so much on the national or state level as on the local level.

Some of you who participate here are talented at research of various areas of government.

I suggest that we dig into the joint planning commission and see just what it has consumed in tax dollars.

What was the budget when it was first created about a decade ago????

What is the budget now???????????????????

What have they accomplished???????????????

Is the ghost bus line the only jewel in their crown??????????????

Election is over and the Stock market is crashing.

It did'nt look like a close win for President Obama after all.

sebekm commented on Wednesday, Nov 07, 2012 at 12:32 PM

No it didn't. You were right, Sporty. Obama's reelection machine did an excellent job. I believe he carried just about every important swing state - if not all of them - and they're still counting the votes in Florida with Obama ahead by more than 40,000. It was an excellent demonstration of campaign tactics which emphasized the advantage an incumbent has. The demonization of Romney six months out via saturation advertising in the swing states produced undeniable results.

Congratulations are due to President Obama. IKY said it well - the people have spoken and we all need to more forward together. We're all on the same team - despite our differences (and our grammatical challenges) - and we all have a vested interest in the success or failure of our country.

I note that there are no reports of "angry white men" rioting due to the election results - unlike what was threatened by some supporters of President Obama if Romney won the election. That's a good thing for sure. But it is now up to Mr. Obama to show that he can actually be a LEADER of ALL THE PEOPLE. He hasn't shown it thus far, but now he has a do-over.

It's in all of our interests that he doesn't blow it.

Yeah? I Don't think Donald Trump is too thrilled about President Obama winning this election.

Trump is a joke. He should have stuck to real estate and kept his nose clean. As it is he's worked himself into being a national talk-show punch line whose lasting legacy is likely to be the phrase "you're fired."

Iknowyou commented on Wednesday, Nov 07, 2012 at 16:13 PM

Florida is still not sure who won in that state. It looks like they would have things fixed after this many years.

sebekm commented on Wednesday, Nov 07, 2012 at 16:50 PM

Yes - I recall the aftermath of the 2000 election, and the "new machines" and updated system were supposed to solve the problems and allow for rapid, accurate tabulation and reporting of the votes.

Sounds like "operator headspace" is at work.

Murrelet, You are so quick to find a negative that you actually spelled the word site with a c instead of an s.

That really makes no difference on this medium.

You over educated folks cant help but be blinded by your own brilliance sometimes.

Donald Trump is a Bully, and a Billionaire Buffoon who thinks because he is wealthy, he can say, and do whatever he wants to do without any repercussions. His children should ask him to close his mouth....

Sporty: I agree with everything you say above. Your comment - verbatim except for the words "Donald Trump" - also applies to some of our familiars.
