With all of the talk on politics and the campaign, I thought I would take a moment out for something a little more important. THE FALCONS ARE 7-0! I don't know what the disdain is for the Falcons, but when I check the NFL headlines each week, I see hardly a mention at all of the NFL's only undefeated team, that is dishing out butt-whoopins like gubbment cheese! 7-0 people. I gotta admit, I was a little torn with this weeks opponents. We decimated the Philadelphia Eagles this week and I couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret as the Falcons kept driving our former Falcon Brother, Michael Vick, into the ground play after play after rain-soaked play. I can't begin to express in the limited scope that words provide, the amount of happiness that is filling my heart right now. All of GA is dancing right now, except for those transplants from the towns we have beaten. Gotta support the home team! Go Falcons!

That was a good game. Did you hear what the announcers said why the Falcons did not get much respect? It was because they always fall short in the playoffs.

I still do not understand how the eagles were the favorite in this game. Of course the odds makers and the bookies have a lot in common, $$$$$.

I am not sure what game I enjoyed better, the Falcons or the Dawgs.

"It was because they always fall short in the playoffs."

I believe this is true. They are viewed as a "tease" - they do well in the regular season then are quick to head to the couch in the post season. The other thing is that the AFC/NFC east divisions always seem to dominate the coverage. The sports networks appear to believe that more people care about the Cowboys choking every year than they are about anybody else doing well. Philadelphia, the Giants and the Jets get too much air time, too.

Glad to see the Dawgs won one this weekend. AL is still the class of the NCAA. But it's nice to see K-State up there. They are a top ten team once in a generation, and everybody loves Cinderella.

Going 7-0 is not usually a big feat. In the past multiple teams have gone 7-0 in the same season. This year the remarkable thing is team parity. If/When the Falcons get to 10-0 then maybe is the time to sit up and take notice. Remember in 2010 they were 13-3 and One and Done in the playoffs.

What Is Labor Day?
August 30, 2012
Well, to me, the only thing Labor Day meant was that I got time and a half hourly pay that day because I was always working. I didn't know what the significance was for it. Was it supposed to be a labor free day? If so, I was getting shafted ...
