This is a blog regarding the Chick-Fil-A issue. It is very balanced, well thought out and makes some good points.

On the otherhand, this just proves there are idiots everywhere.

We spend way too much time as a country fretting about ones sexual orientation. I really dont care which way you swing as long as I do not have to hear about it or attend a parade to support. The gay community should not singled out however, that demographic should not be considered as a special class that is eligible for exclusive privledges. Even in my younger days I did not go to work and exclaim my sexual preferance or prowess. Furthermore, I did not want hear about anyone elses exploits. I personaly do not buy into the whole concept that being gay is genetic. I feel it has to do with enviorment and what "right" and wrong looked like as a child. Chick-fil-a exercised his right to express his own sentiment and it has been long known that his company embraces religion as an importent cornerstone of his franchise. At the end of the day, if you do not want to eat at his establisment, he is fine with that. The people that participated in the "eat in" also exercised thier rights. For the idiots that took it to the extreme, what can I say; you cant fix stupid. If you are gay, good on ya, just dont expect everybody to concur with your choice especialy in some cases when you go out of your way to make sure of your preferance is known. Keep your personal life personal and live your life.

"Even in my younger days I did not go to work and exclaim my sexual preferance or prowess. Furthermore, I did not want hear about anyone elses exploits."

When they use it as a weapon - as they do with their "kiss-in" - they are harming their own cause. Used to be that "human sexuality" was something that was maintained "behind closed doors" - especially in the case of children. Today it's "in your face." There are news spots every day about YOUNG children and their sexual experimentation - even rape - that undoubtedly occur because of our liberal social mores.

See: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...

Are we REALLY better off as a society because of this cultural change?

I don't think so.

JimmyMack commented on Friday, Aug 03, 2012 at 10:55 AM

I agree alot with what you guys are saying except my man HMJC "that being gay is NOT genetic..." I personally think it is. I am sure there are some "experimenters" out there, but I believe its possible for humans to be attracted to the same sex, the opposite sex, both sexes, children and even animals and self-gratification. Choice plays a minor role in my opinion.

Iknowyou commented on Friday, Aug 03, 2012 at 10:56 AM

When gay or lesbians stand up for what they think, they are cheered as heroic and promoted in every way to make them successful. If the rest of us even make a statement contrary to what they believe, we are haters, bigots and every other
filthy name that is out there.

"Choice plays a minor role in my opinion."

When it comes to children and animals, I'm glad the courts don't agree.

HMJC commented on Friday, Aug 03, 2012 at 13:43 PM

I guess I should have alluded more to ones environment as a child as this has a profound effect. For example, if you are the adopted child of a gay couple, that becomes what "normal" looks like. I would venture to say that that environment would provide a pre-determined disposition as far as relationships go. Doesn't mean I am right, just my opinion.

Iknowyou commented on Friday, Aug 03, 2012 at 14:20 PM

How many gay animals have you seen or have you ever seen a gay animal?

I have not because it is not natural.

up2sumptin commented on Friday, Aug 03, 2012 at 14:45 PM

You lost me on children and animals. I can't see how anyone could be sexually simulated by a child let alone impose that desire against someone's will. As for animals, unless you could convince me the animal gave informed consent, you are just a sick monster to me.

The hardest part of having relations with a cow is you have to get off of the stump to kiss it.....

This is what the proponents ignore (or worse - they either don't care or actually HOPE that a pre-determined disposition occurs). Normal is normal, and not is not. We'll never get to a situation where "everything is normal," because it isn't and shouldn't be. Everything is normal = "anything goes." When a society gets to that stage, it is not long for this earth.

I believe sexuality is genetically predisposed is all I am saying...except maybe for the bestiality folks. But even then, I am not sure.

"squeal like a pig..;"

sebekm commented on Sunday, Aug 05, 2012 at 16:22 PM

Does that mean that "hillbillies" are genetically predisposed to sodomizing Ned Beatty?

But seriously, I think they may be making your point here:

I'm not so sure. If is genetic then it would fall into one of two catergories. Either it is a benefital mutation (and how loving animals and children is biologically benefital is beyond me) or it is a genetic flaw like autism or Huntington's. Either way your opening a big can of worms.

sebekm commented on Sunday, Aug 05, 2012 at 18:09 PM

Yes - and it is a can that I personally prefer CLOSED; never to be opened.

I don't see any biological benefit at all - especially for human beings. To me, it seems to be simply behavior designed to satisfy aberrant/deviant sexual desires.

I guess this is where we're suppoed to "hate the sin but love the sinner." But let's remember that even when doing so, the sin is still a sin.

timeontarget commented on Monday, Aug 06, 2012 at 06:26 AM

I know this might infuriate some of us here but they simply should have stayed in the closet with their deviant behavior.

We all always knew they were there but it was not up in our face as it is these days.

HMJC commented on Monday, Aug 06, 2012 at 10:07 AM

That was my point to begin with, whether I agree with ones prefrences, keep it to your self. I am sure there are contrinbuting factors t ones sexuality but nor t0 the point that this is the the only type of relationship that is acceptablle. If you are gay, once again I say it's your right. Just don't expect everyones else to concur or advacate special status because of your orientation. Othere wise, dont be surprised when someone of differing beliefs chosses not to support. I say again, keep your life personal regardless of your orientation and we all live our lives. It really is kinf of easy if you let it be...
