Take Me To Post Comment Form Do you claim to make the best BBQ in the Coastal Georgia? The Hinesville Area Arts Council challenges you to prove your savory grill-skills in a BBQ Contest held during their annual Blues & BBQ event to be held September 29th from 4-11pm in downtown Hinesville.
Applications are now being accepted for BBQ contestants. Categories include pork, beef, chicken, ribs, and people’s choice. Cash prizes and trophy or certificate will be awarded to the first and second place winners in each category with the overall winner receiving a $200 cash prize.
Contestants may also apply to be a vendor to sell BBQ throughout the evening. To be eligible for selection as a vendor, the applicant must enter at least one category in the contest. Vendor space is limited.
The public is encouraged to nominate their favorite BBQ joint by sending contact information to discoverdowntown@coastalnow.net for an application and information to be mailed.
Entry fee for the BBQ contest is $25. Vendor fees begin at $50, if submitted by August 17th; $75 by September 7th; and $100 after September 8th.

The Blues and BBQ event is sponsored by the Hinesville Area Arts Council and is supported by the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority and Fort Stewart MWR.
