Why? This article is TRUE. We ought to be able to see the humor around us every now and then, shouldn't we?
...and this is no worse than yours at:
Perhaps it just struck you the wrong way...
Asians have surpassed Hispanics as the largest wave of new immigrants to the United States, pushing the population of Asian descent to a record 18.2 million and helping to make Asians the fastest-growing racial group in the country, according to a study released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center.
"It's not about the article! 'YOUR A BLOG HOG"......"
You can always post some blogs yourself - and thereby reduce the proportion of my "hogging" the blog. Or you can do like others and read the titles, and if they're not interesting you can move on to wherever you want.
But regardless - people come here to spend time and express their opinions. This blog is not hampering your ability to do that.
IKY: Thanks for pointing out that Asians now comprise the greatest immigrant influx. The thing I didn't realize was the (IMHO) most significant stat in your link:
"About 45 percent of Hispanic immigrants in the United States are here illegally..."
When almost half of an immigrant group has entered your country ILLEGALLY, to ignore the problem and bury one's head in the sand is CRIMINAL. I constantly hear the talking heads touting that the Obama Administration has deported more illegal hispanic immigrants than any previous admin. But how do they account for such a high percentage of illegals which are STILL HERE?
I think that the Republicans are actually in a better position re: the November election with today's ruling on ObamaCare. It deprives the President of the issue for his own use, and will enable the focus on where it belongs: the economy.
But illegal immigration is not off the table as a campaign issue - despite the administration's recent attempts to woo hispanics with their rhetoric.
The big difference is the Asians came here legally while the Hispanics slipped across the boarder and now Obama has granted them amnesty just for the Hispanic vote.
I wonder if he will actually get it. They went for him last time, so I suppose the "smart money" is that he will repeat. I wonder what difference it will make if he puts Rubio on the ticket with him?
Marco Rubio is a rising and shining star in the GOP, IMHO. He would "outshine" Romney by leaps and bounds. Romney needs someone to make HIM look like a star or president, not the opposite. He's already dull enough as he can get. Though I do not think she will do it...the best thing I think for the GOP would be to convince Condolezza Rice to be on the ticket. But that is not goint to happen, especially from a party that chose Dan Quayle a while back and the great "game changer" herself, Sarah Palin.
Yes - Rice would be the wild card, but as recently as three days ago she said "no" just about as forcefully as she can:
I think she's too smart to take the job. She's said before that what she REALLY wants to do is be the commissioner of the NFL. She's probably privately hoping the Roger Goodell will make a hasty exit so she can get a shot while she's still young.
Speaking of shots - the Prez got a big one from the ruling yesterday, and now it's up to Romney to regain the initiative (if he can). Pretty amazing - wasn't it - that that "hack" and "shill" for the right, Chief Justice John Roberts, was the only thing that stood between a HUGE victory for Obama and the COMPLETE invalidation of Obamacare.
And now the wackos on the right are claiming that Roberts' ruling was as a result of a history of epileptic seizures or the meds used to treat it. They can't accept that somebody just ruled according to his judicial interpretation and his conscience. No matter - if it HAD gone the other way, there is NO DOUBT that the lefties would have been howling about how the court was "fixed."
But things continue to be interesting. As to the ruling, the spinners on the right may be correct in that it was probably better for them the way the ruling went down. Now they can continue their crusade to overturn it legislatively, and Romney has the "what I will do on Day 1 of my presidency" argument.
Only a little more than four months to go....
Hi Sebe: just saw your clip. Thanks. Yes, the election is getting closer and you put it well when I believe you noted this would be a 'drip'drip' type thing regarding each side. After what was termed a 'disastorous week" for the President leading up the The Supreme Court Decision demonstrates that observation on your part.
The runner with the 'best kick' on the final lap will win it.
Hi Jimmy. I think so. I watched a smattering of "news analysis" yesterday and the rabid right was going crazy trying to spin how and why Roberts "flipped" over to the "liberal side." They were coming up with all kinds of goofy stuff about how he might be really trying to set up the left for future SC cases and how maybe he was "influenced at the last minute" by sinister forces from the dark side.
I knew the spin was going to be working overtime no matter how the ruling on ObamaCare came out, but I'm surprised at all of the weird theories being put forth. And I'm not talking about the far right gonzos like Savage, Limburger, and Hannity - I mean even those who have been historically "slightly to the right" are joining in on the oddball theories.
This one is far more interesting than I thought it could ever be.
Chief MVB, can you give me an example on Sean Hannity, because I watch him and most of his analysis is based on facts supported by his conservative ideology. He makes honest mistakes like me, you and a host of others on this blogosphere; however the mistakes are far and few just like you,IMHO!
Hi Funky: When I watch Hannity, he only seems to have one agenda: to bash the left. I never see him give credit to anyone or anything that is not conservative, and he looks to attack all things left and liberal at every opportunity.
That's why I put him in the same category as Limburger and Savage. There are others on the right, just as there are the Olbermann's, Maddow'w, "Youg Turks," Eleanor Clift, etc., on the left who NEVER give honest credit to the other side and who make their living ripping the opposition. Usually, any "praise" that is given to the other side is done in a sarcastic fashion.
If you listen to these people collectively, the only conclusion you can reach is that EVERYONE who is involved in politics or who is promoting a cause is a demon. Obviously, this is not true - but that's what I get out of what they say.
