Yes many of us have noticed but Up2 is right. We missed our chance to vote them out by not enough people going to the polls to do so.

I agree with Up and JimmyMack, we did have the opportunity to do something about it in last years election. Just because voters of Hinesville where too lazy to go to the polls doesnt excuse our elected officials from being accountable to the Taxpayers in this City
I am so glad I don't live in Hinesville. Basically with all the uproar of the sneaky pay raises, then the talk to throw them all out and everyone of them were re elected, they have in their minds they now own Hinesville and the voting public gave them the go ahead to do what ever they want.
I noticed when they paid 55,000 dollars for the signs? And after i read the budgets, they spend more than drunken sailors on leave! Its our money they spend too!
This precisely is the problem. We, the taxpayers, tend to find out how much of our money is spend AFTER the fact. Usually due to someone leaking the information. $ Amounts are never the same depending on who you ask.
I encourage anyone and everyone to attend Counsel meetings that are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the new elaborate City Hall Palace.
For most working people attending will be impossible since the meeting is conveniently held at 3pm. Have your voice heard by calling or emailing your counsel member every week, reminding them that they are working for us. Let them know their performance is being watched.

Golfy - you have described the situation here to a "t." But we'll have another chance next time (presuming we get past December 2012) to throw the bums out. We need a candidate that not only will appeal to those who see this crew for what they are, but who also will be able to sway the others who have been acting like sheep.

That's a very good idea.
Another very good idea would be to have a newspaper tell it's readers what they are doing at those meetings.
The press should be the watchdog of the community.
When you have an uninformed electorate you have the likes of our local elected officials as it is currently.
I agree! There should be a member of the media reporting objectively. Unfortunately this hasn't happened yet. Meanwhile, please be pro-active and keep contacting your counsel members.
The media hasn't done anything, and I called and emailed after reading several of the budgets, maybe the media needs more people telling them to report it!
