In reponse to tiger 4ever or whatever. Do not feel sorry for Darby because I am not sorry anything that I have said.I was part of the interview team that hired Coach Walsh. My daughter and my son both went to Bradwell as well as my wife. My son played for Coach Walsh. In the Coach Walsh tenure I have missed three games that I can remember. Jim is a great guy and no one is saying he is not. But there is not a coach in the country that does not help his kids anyway he can. You talk about what coaches do, film room, laundry, well sport thats part of coaching. You bring the middle schools, go ask the coach at Snellson how many times Coach Walsh came over there this season and asked if they could do some things that they do at Bradwell. Let me save you some gas money, ZERO.You talk about a B.O.E. member that was re-elected by the people on our end of the county. The fact that she does not support us in this matter might put a damper on the next election.Community invovement, how many times have I seen you cooking boston butts at midnight, parking cars at a fair, cooking all day at the football field for the coaches. I would say that is another ZERO. Wins and loses, when you are in the coaching profession that is also part of the deal.I have heard Jim say a number of times about getting his butt fired if he did not win. Coach Clifford Johnson, one of the founders of what was once of the most repected programs in the state said no one never told him it did not matter. It will a dark day if we do not hold someone accountable and that starts with the head coach. Also with our new stadium there is going to be a new scoreboard. I wonder what that is for tiger/whoever.

I believe you told him Darby..

BillMacDonald commented on Tuesday, Dec 20, 2011 at 09:07 AM

Darby, sorry I am a little confused. You have no children in the program now, is that correct? So, why is it then that you are so pressed for the guy to loose his job? I understand small town America getting behind the local High School Football program. Heck it's a great piece of Americana. But Your advocating the firing of the Coach / Athletic Director... isn't that just a bit extreem? It sounds like one retiree is using his time for eveil and not good...

darby commented on Tuesday, Dec 20, 2011 at 17:02 PM

Bill,I have been involved with the program since 1980. If you have read the paper or the blogs, we had a meeting with Walsh three years ago about what we expected from him. The program went 3-7 and 1-9. So you tell me, the program is worse with no light at the end of the tunnel. But with the powers that be they are just fine with being one of the worst programs in the state.

Bill,

To give you a better understanding, I ask that you please real my blogs. Including the the very first one that I blogged about a few years ago. It would give you better insight.

There's nothing evil about being an advocate for change that will give the kids a better opportunity to succeed.

SportsFan31313 commented on Wednesday, Dec 21, 2011 at 00:19 AM

You are absolutely correct Tiger5....

BillMacDonald commented on Thursday, Dec 22, 2011 at 13:11 PM

Okay, trying to understand. You are involcved with the program since 1980. That is great dedication. In what capacity to you tell a coach what you expect of him, are you the principal, school board member maybe? I know you are not the SUPT as you mentioned you met with her.

Tiger 5, There is when it is to get someone fired for not meeting your standards and you are not part of the process.

Some joe off the street can request you get fired to your boss that would be evil right(?)

Sports fan Iwill read them this evening. I too am an advocate for getting the best opportunities for kids to excell. But, getting someone fired would require that they breached the law in my mind. I could not advocate that cause I do not like the standing at the end of the season. I feel that is unreasonable... Too many outlying factors.

SportsFan31313 commented on Thursday, Dec 22, 2011 at 14:50 PM

Bill,

No one wants Walsh fired per-say. We want him removed from the Office Of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. Walsh has a teaching license, and is certified to teach academics.
He could go to the classroom, and teach academics.

Tiger5 commented on Friday, Dec 23, 2011 at 08:53 AM

Bill,

It's not my standards I'm concerned about. As far as being a part of the process, I pay him. He gets paid with my money. The same is true of every other tax payer. Who do you think is supposed to hold the LCSS, and every aspect of it accountable? That's right; the community which they serve. Check your property tax bill and then tell me that all of us in this county aren't a "part of the process."

As for Darby, because of his involvement with the program, when he speaks, people should listen. It goes beyond wins and losses. As I alluded to before, he (or anyone else) doesn't have to be a principal, board member, or anything else to have a legitimate say in all matters concerning the public school system. Ask any board member or principal and they will tell you the same thing.

I agree Tiger5.

BillMacDonald commented on Sunday, Dec 25, 2011 at 00:47 AM

What... I fail to see why you are explaining this to me or perhaps you really thought I was not inteligent enough to understand this, You do pay his salary, indirectly. You pay your taxes as I do got it. I am trying to find out who Darby and is and how he was able to put conditions on a caoches position as he says he is not the Principal, The Supt, or on the school board. So Tiger and Sports fan let's let him answer for himself shall we? He obviously can represent himself. Tiger I am still confused he was disagreeing with you and implying your position is swayed by friendship rather than what is in the students best interest.

darby commented on Sunday, Dec 25, 2011 at 10:09 AM

Bill, what can not you understand. It is not just me, this is the boosters club, everyone who supports the football program year after year. You act like you have never heard of a majority of people wanting achange in the direction of leadership. Coach Walsh knew what the expectations of this job was when he took it. We think, no we know that the program can not get back to where it needs to be with Coach Walsh. So I would think would be easy for you or anyone else to understand. Since you do not support the program the way myself and others do then you probably do not.

Tiger5 commented on Monday, Dec 26, 2011 at 15:54 PM

Bill,

I only commented originally to defend someone’s character. You said he was using his time for evil. And you want to talk about being a bit extreme?? Then you addressed me directly, “Tiger 5, there is when it is to get someone fired for not meeting your standards and you are not part of the process.”

I suppose I thought you were aware that we were all in this together so I explained why you were wrong, using the first person. I apologize if I seemed to be answering for anyone else. As for being intelligent enough to understand how it works, you are the one who was asking the questions. I was only explaining what I assumed you failed to consider. I never even considered whether you were intelligent enough to know these things. Honestly, I thought you were just trying to stir things up; playing the “devil’s advocate.”

By the way, Darby and I agree fully on all aspects of this subject. Are you confusing me with Tiger4ever?

BillMacDonald commented on Monday, Dec 26, 2011 at 19:18 PM

Darby thanks for clearing that up. Nowhere before had I seen you were a member of the booster club. So that makes much more sense to me... Things are very different here than they are up north. A highschool booster club does not put conditions on employment where I am from The athletic director, principal, school board or supt are the only ones who have any say over those issuses. If you have issues you bring it to them. That is where I was confused. I did not know the booster club was allowed to set conditions here. So part on my comments were out of place.

Tiger sorry I did not know there wa a pride of more than one tigers out there.

I still do not believe in how your views of betterment of the program. To dismiss teh AD and the Coach... Whta else does it mean other than fire him?, Which I beleive is an evil act, you don't like what someone is doing get them fired(?) I can't agree that is teh best way to do anyhting better. No I was truely trying to understand how someone not in the School system could set conditions on employment, not trying to stir things up but was very confused. I did not see Booster Club in any of the previous posts. Sorry if my ignorance to the power of the booster club caused hard feelings.

Thanks for all the clarification!

Bill,

This is meant for Tiger4Ever, but I just wanted to share this with you, and gacpl.

Here is another one for you to think on:

Tiger4Ever,

You want to believe that Coaches are not replaced based on wins and losses in the State of Georgia? Well here is another one for you.

Henry County Head Football Coach and entire Coaching Staff Resigned.

"Henry County head coach Mike Rozier, who twice won 10 games at a school that had never won a state playoff game, resigned after 11 seasons, the Henry Daily Herald reported Friday.

Rozier was 51-67 overall but finished with five straight winning seasons, the best run in school history. His 2007 and 2008 teams finished 10-2.

Rozier coaches three all-state wide receivers in Chris Jackson, Jamal Patterson and Markeith Ambles. Quarterback Drew Little, a senior in 2008, is ranked second all-time in career passing with 8,427 yards.

Henry County was 7-5 in 2011 and upset Thomson 28-7 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs. Rozier told the newspaper that coaching in college was a possibility."

”I absolutely want to coach again,” he said. “I haven’t made a decision yet on what I’m going to do. I’m looking into some things.”

This not the first coach in the State Of Georgia to resign or be terminated this year as Head Football Coach, and Athletic Director. There were many this year.

So please listen to this, and listen good. Carol Guyette, Tiger4ever, gacpl, and other Walsh supporters, if you really believe that a Head football Coach, and Athletic Director no longer lose thier job based on wins, and loses, then I hope you read what I just comment about.
