Well There is too much at stake here for Walsh to remain here at Bradwell Institute. This a strategy move. There are ways to force Walsh out. Let me ask you something? What is Jeff Miller's opinion on Walsh? Other Coaches? Do they all believe the same thing we believe? In an blog that I had posted, I think Jeff Miller was in favor of Walsh and was satisfied as the way Walsh was coaching.
They made it very easy to force Ron Beechum out, and he was a Championship Coach while at Bradwell Institute. So why Is it so hard now? I'm not buying it. Do you believe that the Superintendent was just blowing smoke, and telling you what you want to hear hoping that this will blow over, and Walsh could remain? This is very serious business. This is about those kids future.
Walsh is a absolute disaster and a failure. He can not remain at Bradwell Institute as Athletic Director, and Head Football Coach. No where in the entire State Of Georgia does a Head Football Coach remain in position with the failures that Walsh have. What in the world is these people thinking? The last time I went to a home game, the attendance was very low as compared to the winning years of Bradwell Institute.
It seems to me that the powers that be does not consider Bradwell Institute Athletics relevant. As long as it does not affect their wallets, they simply don't care, and you know what? The sad thing is that the real losers, and victims out of this are the kids. We ask for one thing. That is significant change by replacing Walsh, and the powers that be play stupid, and turn deaf ear.
Or feed you B.S. while at the same time sweep things under the rug. I have closed my wallet. I strongly urge everyone to stop the fund raising, and close your wallets. Since the BOE does nopt get involved into situations like this, then they are irrevelant on everything else. In others words, they are all useless. No need in them voicing their opinions since according to the that September post that I have read, suggest that they don't get involved in things like this. They don't hire, fire, promote, or demote anyone. So, in other words, they have no power.
Since the Superintendent is now an appointed position, (so I heard) then the pressure need to be on her to either force Walsh to resign or simply terminate him as Athletic Director. Cause? Incompetence! Terrible performances. Now I know that Walsh have a contract. You may not be able to fire him out of the School System, but you can Damn sure reassigned him to strictly to the classroom as a instructor. The Superintendent nedd to move on this this school year. Again, the stakes could not be any higher.
ethics1000,
Yes they did. But not just limited to the 80's Bradwell Institute had good seasons in the 70's as well, and we played a much tougher schedule.
We played Perrinial Powers like:
The Waycross Bulldogs
State championship Team
The Statesboro Blue Devils
State Championship Team
The Swainsboro Tiger
Region Championship Team
The Thompson Bulldogs
State Championship
The Camden County Wildcats
We have beaten the above teams
Teams that you may consider good teams these days that we beat on a regular basis:
Effingham County Rebels
Johnson Of Savannah
Peach County
Washington County
Screven County
Jenkins Of Savannah
Ware County Gators
This was under the reigns of Athletic Director Head Football Coach Clifford Johnson, along with Coaches Candler Boyd, Jerome Smith, Donnell Woods, Bill Stanford, Keith Colson, and other Coaches who I have not mentioned.
Ethics1000,
I know your Uncle jackie Scott very well. I also know Johnnie Riles, Larry Riles, too. Johnnie is a dynamic speaker. Very Movitional when he speaks.
I know Quentin Lewis, his brother Dominic Blassinggame and many others. Matter Of Fact, I knew "ALL" of those players during that era.
Bradwell Institute dominated during that era.
