BRADWELL INSTITUTE FOOTBALL!!!! ARE THEY A CONTENDER OR PRETENDER !!!
Weeks ago, I commented on the way the Bradwell Institute Tigers Football were playing Football. I suggested that although they were talented, they were not playing up to their potential. I stated that they way they were playing football and losing to non-contending teams was unacceptable.
I even recapped on the earlier years of contention that Bradwell Institute had winning Sub Region Titles, and Region Titles. I also mentioned the Region Championships they won, and being Ranked in the State by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
I must say that a few fans of Bradwell Institute were pretty irate at the comments I made, and one even felt that the County needed a feeder system in order to play at the same level as other great football programs in the State.
Well since that time, The Bradwell Institute football Team has stepped up their game, and I am first to say Kudos to a major comeback to having a good season.
Since that last loss to Houston County Region 1-AAAAA, Bradwell Institiute have Routed it's opponents through out Region 3-AAAAA scoring 40 plus points on it opponents, and the defense giving up an average of one touchdown (take or give a few points).
Winning Six games in a row decisively is very impressive. In fact, so impressive that Bradwell Institute have other teams in the State watching them.
According to comments mentioned in the Atlanta Journal Constitution,
Camden County Wildcat fans says that Region 3-AAAAA is the weakest Region in the State in Class AAAAA with the exception of Camden County of course.
You have quite a few fans out of Class 1-AAAAA Perinnial Powers such as Lowndes County, Northside Warner Robins, and Coffee County who thinks that Bradwell Institute is not a team of Contention.
Atlanta Journal Constitution Sports Writer and Editor Todd Holcomb thinks that Bradwell Institute could not beat ANY school in the State too include Region 3-AAAAA Power Camden County other than those Schools in Bradwell Institute's very own Region.
Several bloggers states that Bradwell will be a "ONE AND DONE" after the Camden County Bradwell Institute match up for the Region 3-AAAAA Title coming this Friday in Hinesvile.
Several Camden County fans stated that Bradwell Institute could not even hold their coat tails and that Bradwell Institute should not even mention Bradwell Institute and Camden County in the same sentence or the same breath.
In addition, Several Camden County suggest that they will run the score up on Bradwell Institute 60 to 70 points just as they did to the Savannah teams. They also predict that Camden County will have a score of 35 points to Bradwell Institute 0 by the half, and by then, begin playing their JV players, 9th graders for the second half, and for the duration of the game.
It was stated that Camden County will consider this a Cinderalla scrimmage game and they are already looking ahead for the 1st round of the playoffs and practicing for that.
With all of that being said, I TOTALLY disagree. Bradwell has proven to me to be a team of contention, and has earned the right to secure a playoff berth. I hope that Bradwell Institute take it to the Camden County Wildcats like no other team has done this season.
With respect to Camden County, they are a good team. Infact, they are a great team. They have Beaten some good teams this year such as Hoover High School out of Hoover Alabama. They have beaten a team out of Florida convincingly. They have routed teams in the Region running scores above 60 points. Camden County has a very fast and stingy defense who rarely give up points or yardage. They play aggressive, they are very physical, they are very fast.
They have a lot of players and talent on that squad, therefore; they will substitute players in and out, and the next player that comes in, will be just as good as they player that he replaced. They will try to wear the Bradwell Institute Tigers Offense, and defense down.
My belief is that Bradwell Institute is just as good as Camden County. Now is the time that Bradwell Institute show the critics who you really are. Prove them wrong as you have proven me wrong. Bradwell Institute has to play aggressive, play with speed, get very physical with Camden County, and above all. Show them that you have heart. No fumbles. No penalties. If they score, answer back with a better score. Show them that you will not allow them to come in your Stadium, and just take over your field.
If Bradwell Institute does that, they will definitely beat Camden County. If anyone wishes to see the blogs, go to www.ajc.com click on sports, then high school.
